United Nations Special Operations Command sent an elite expeditionary force of soldiers and pilots out on a simple recon mission, and somehow along the way they sparked an alien civil war. Now the not-at-all-merry band of pirates is in desperate trouble, again. Their stolen alien starship is falling apart, thousands of light years from home. The ancient alien AI they nicknamed Skippy is apparently dead, and even if they can by some miracle revive him, he might never be the same.

Yes, you can do, have, achieve, and create anything you want out of life. Anthony Robbins has proved it. Robbins, the undisputed master of the magic of mind power, shows you in this audio program how to harness yours. He demonstrates passionately and eloquently that whatever you think will be, that your state of mind determines what you can and can't do, and that all successful results can be modeled and duplicated.

Don’t get me wrong, his content is good. But 50 minutes of audio for the full price of a book or audible credit?

Not worth it. It’s just an excerpt from one of his conferences. Just listen to a YouTube clip of his and save yourself the money.

We were created by an infinitely creative God to reflect his love and character to the world. One way we do that is by continuing his creative work. In this energizing book, serial entrepreneur and best-selling author Jordan Raynor helps artists, entrepreneurs, writers, and other creatives re-imagine our work as service to God and others, addressing such penetrating questions as: Is my work as a creative really as God-honoring as that of a pastor or missionary? Will what I make today matter in eternity?

I’ve read a lot of books about creativity (The Artisan Soul, Culture Making, Every Good Endevour, etc.) and I was a little concerned this would just say the same things as those, but Jordan really adds a lot of unique perspective to his stories.

I was also happy to find myself enjoying the entrepreneurial side of this book far more than I thought I would. I never saw myself as one, but now I see that all creatives are entrepreneurs as well.

Since reading it, it’s subtley changed the way I do business, strengthening my calling and identity in what I’m called to do as a creative and business owner.

I’d highly recommend this book. It will become a new classic for a modern era.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

The good news about injustice is that God is against it. God is in the business of using the unlikely to accomplish justice and mercy. In this abridged audiobook, Gary Haugen offers stories of courageous Christians who have stood up for justice in the face of human trafficking, forced prostitution, racial and religious persecution, and torture. Throughout, he provides concrete guidance on how Christians can rise up to seek justice throughout the world.

“Jesus - the Jesus we might discover if we really looked,” explains Wright, “is larger, more disturbing, more urgent than we had ever imagined. We have successfully managed to hide behind other questions and to avoid the huge, world-shaking challenge of Jesus’s central claim and achievement. It is we, the churches, who have been the real reductionists. We have reduced the kingdom of God to private piety; the victory of the cross to comfort for the conscience; Easter itself to a happy, escapist ending after a sad, dark tale. Piety, conscience, and ultimate happiness are important...."

This book encapsulates the story of Jesus in a fresh, new way. I now feel like I have a better understanding of the "big picture" of God at work in the world, throughout time.

The narrator is wonderful and NT Wright is very charming.
