I hope Podium is going to put the whole series out as audio books. I expect these works read well but I started with the first two in audio and will wait for the rest, especially if they keep RC Bray performing them. I like military Syfy but too much is formulaic and/or derivative. I think this is because the authors nevered served. One or maybe both of these guys were in the service. I would put money on it. Then there are the aliens. Lots of them and quite a variety. They are quite well written and then Mr. Bray gives life to them.
He is in a class all by himself. So, thanks guys. Keep them coming and we will keep buying them.

Great to hear these characters again.
Start with Quarter Share & listen or read in order. This series is worth all the credits it requires. I have read some
& listened to some & I prefer the audiobooks. However you choose to meet Ishmael and all the wonderful characters, you will come to love them as we 'old hands' do. Many thanks to Nathan Lowell and Jeffrey Kafer for another great addition to the canon.

Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place. Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries. The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes. And it gives the reader a chance to learn things that only Auri knows.... In this book, Patrick Rothfuss brings us into the world of one of The Kingkiller Chronicle’s most enigmatic characters. Full of secrets and mysteries, The Slow Regard of Silent Things is the story of a broken girl trying to live in a broken world.

What did you love best about The Slow Regard of Silent Things?

This book is a nice addition to the series. It gives us some more of the back story for one of the more enigmatic characters in this very novel Rothfuss series. We are still waiting for the third book in the overall story. But as we wait, this book, fleshes out the story of the girl that lives in the basements of the 'college of magic.

The Free Navy - a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships - has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them. James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone.

I chose early on to follow these stories in audiobook format. I believe that Jefferson Mays brings the characters alive with his incredible ability to voice each one so distinctly. That said, how ever you choose to enter the world these two guys have created, do so.
I am also a huge fan of the SyFy Tv series and hope it continues as long as the book series runs. Ultimately, I have not experienced a speculative fiction collaboration as good as this since Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle.
