College students Kenji and Dylan stumble upon a strange recording in the background of an obscure song. It's a woman's voice uttering a string of seemingly random characters. Upon further inspection, the song appears to have been embedded with a hidden message. Attempting to crack the mysterious code and becoming obsessed with the recording, Kenji and Dylan set off in search of answers. With every turn in the road however, the puzzle only seems to grow more complicated.

Would you try another book from Ambrose Ibsen and/or Jake Urry?

Probably not

Has Transmission turned you off from other books in this genre?

No

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jake Urry?

Anyone. He sounded too old for this story, and too formal. No inflection at all... boring.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

dissappointment

Any additional comments?

It starts out with a very interesting premise. Drags you along and then.... pretty much nothing happens, and it just ends. Very poor.

An ordinary snapshot causes a mother’s world to unravel in an instant. After picking up her two young children from school, Grace Lawson looks through a newly developed set of photographs. She finds an odd one in the pack: A mysterious picture from perhaps twenty years ago, showing four strangers she can’t identify. But there is one face she recognizes—that of her husband, from before she knew him. When her husband sees the photo that night, he leaves their home and drives off without explanation.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As always, Harlan delivers with a great book.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

As aways it kept you wondering, and wanting to hear more

How could the performance have been better?

The male reader was great. The woman doing the female part, may be the single-most annoying reader I have ever heard in a book. Nasal... annoying... bizarre inflections that distracted so bad, I almost had to turn it off. She should be forced to return the money, and then be sent to a third world country, for torture.... since she tortured me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

See above comments on the female reader

Any additional comments?

Please, please, please NEVER USE THAT FEMALE READER FOR ANYTHING!!!
