Inside the peculiar case, he discovers a journal, written by the renowned Robert Louis Stevenson, which divulges ominous particulars about his creation of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. What a great story, flawlessly performed by the narrator. The author took me completely away from my home state of Tennessee and firmly planted me in Alaska for the most engaging story I have heard in a long time. Great character development, some mystery revealed along the way, and just an entertaining experience all around!

Love this author. Her books grab me right away, and this one is no exception. I live in Nashville, where the story is based, and it is fun to recognize areas when they are mentioned in the book. I know she lives here, so I am always intrigued by the way she weaves a story around the area. her writing is good, and she is great with mystery, crime, and intrigue.

Faded photographs of a glamorous couple in postwar Europe. Old letters hinting of tragic loss. And a breathtaking array of magnificent jewelry, spectacular stones in exquisite settings. These are the contents of a safe-deposit box long abandoned in a New York City bank. If no heir can be identified, the jewelry will be auctioned. But who was the woman who left such a fortune and no will?

Now I remember why I stopped reading Danielle Steele. She was my favorite author for years. But her books became mundane with similar fluff. Now that I listen to books daily, I realized I no longer enjoy simple plots with poor character development. She couldn't decide who to make the principle character in this book. I wondered if the story would ever end...it could have been three different books.

I enjoyed the old time Radio style production, and the actors did a good job. However, the addition of the digitally produced sound effects was silly and overdone, with large gaps between segments. I was happy when it finally was all over. Don't waste time on this drama...just get another good book with great narration!
