Great storyline, engaging characters, a good mystery and good narration. What more can you ask for? I’ve already bought the next book in the series.

I just struggled to get past the narrator’s delivery and the voices given to many of the characters. The voices used for older characters were really annoying.

If the narrator mispronouncing many words commonly used in historical fiction (a few examples include: Bosom, Vassal, Tithe, Carrel) doesn’t have you ditching this book for a refund, the horrible plot line will.

If you enjoy books about nuns tormenting other nuns over and over as the main plot line, then this is the book for you.

I kept trying to stick with it as it is an interesting period in history, but with three hours still to go I just could not keep going with this terrible audio book.

Please get the narrator and the editors of this audio book a dictionary. If you don’t know what a word means or how to say it, look it up, don’t just guess and guess so very badly.

The previous books in this series were much more to my taste. I didn’t expect this book to be so much of a sappy romance. There were too many (and to lengthy) scenes of romantic angst that added little to the plot and just seemed like page fillers to make the book longer. The romantic side of the plot could have been incorporated into the book without it taking over the book. If another book in this series comes out I’ll give it a try but if it ends up being a romance novel I’ll probably ditch the series going forward.

I rarely give a 5 star review. But this book deserves it. The story was great and the performance was as well. I highly recommend this audiobook. And hope to see more from this author soon.

I have really liked all the other books in this series. But this one really missed the mark. It dragged in and on with very little to keep it interesting.

I’ve read another series by this author and it was wonderful. I was really hopeful this series would be the same. This series (I’ve read books 1 and 2) just seems to drag on and on in the middle with no little happening that keeps you interested in the plot line. It feels like the author is more worried about filling a certain number of pages than keeping the plot moving at a pace that keeps the reader interested.
