"Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness… He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires."

I thought the story was great - lots of interesting stuff right from the get go, hot love scenes, and the female narration was fantastic.... BUT... the narrator's male voice was really off-putting for most of the book. besides the tone of it, I think the worst part was that her female vocal was so dramatic and Lively, and the mail narration was so monotone. I get that it was part of the character, but that was a little over-the-top for me. Thankfully the writing kept me listening, but I'm really hoping her male narration gets better as the books progress

There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I've always been good at following rules. Until she came. Then I learned new rules.

Great story, had me gripped from beginning to end. I can usually figure out what's going to happen in stories like these, but not this one! What a pleasure to be surprised! The narration is also fantastic, which makes this book a complete homerun!!!!!

the majority of the book could have been taken directly from my own thoughts, opinions and observations. it was as if she had reached into my head and decided to put on paper everything she saw period at times I felt as if the universe was playing a trick on me, reading back to me my own writings LOL. while I absolutely adore what she had to say, it bothers me some what that I wasn't the one to say it first. in the grand scheme of things though, I'm just happy someone finally did. The greatest crime perpetrated on women by women is the inability to be honest with each other about how hard life truly is. I have said this for years and years and years, that if we would only be truthful about our struggles, we would help each other so much... But women are so busy pretending they are perfect and fearing being vulnerable to other women in order to avoid being judged that they keep their mouth shut, a smile painted on their face, pretending they have this shit together when it couldn't be farther from the truth. There was more to this book than that, but this is the majority of what I personally got out of it. I feel like this book is going to help a lot of women take a really long deep breath. I definitely plan on reading it again.

Outstanding, but with unnecessary sexual content

This was truly an incredible tale, amazingly read by the author himself. Truly, it's a breath of fresh air to hear such an original fable.

The pros: incredible story, and even more incredible narration. Very well developed characters, definitely scoops you up and carries you along with the story, never letting you down.

The cons: I am NOT a prude at all - I love a good sensual and sexy story. However, there is one scene in this book that was totally unnecessary and was even distracting to the story in my opinion. There was no need to have such a detailed sexual encounter in the middle of what is a fairy tale. It could have easily been written differently and the idea of what transpired would still have been conveyed. In my opinion, it took away from the story. It was the only thing that I found to be negative, but you do get over it soon after and are sucked right back into the plot and excellent narration.

My only regret is that it ended too soon - I definitely wanted more.

I *highly* recommend this book.
