I dislike the meanness that was shown from the earl almost to the end . It would of help towards the 12 chapter to have some romance towards these two . It was frustrating to keep my attention for so loooong to see no end until the last 30 minutes!!!!

I did not like the loooong stretch of Mariam and Chad to figure out who he slept with .... The narrator was a disappointment. Slow .. No emotion .. Impersonating the the Cowboys was just sad . The women should of been more feminine . I would not recommend this audio book to my friends ! Slow and boring 😳

War hero Alistair Carsington really really loves women, and his romantic impulses have landed him in nearly as much danger as the Battle of Waterloo. To avoid his usual temptations and perhaps even repay the friend who saved his life, he's exiled himself to a place far from civilization - Derbyshire - in winter! Fate laughs at his good intentions and drives him straight into conflict with Miss Mirabel Oldridge, his match in tenacity, intelligence, and deviousness - who also happens to be wildly irresistible.

The Burg Series are great, the Golden Trail was diffidently a good one but there was so mush going on and it was difficult to to keep up . I would go back and try to get it all in . I like the male narrator because of the strong emotional voice . The first two books the females didn't have the emotional voice or passion I felt but the story was good to hold my attention. I'm getting ready to listen for the next book .

The whole story very frustrating. The dialog between the two main characters was short back and forth . The other characters I would liked more in depth or relation to Jake . It was empty in many areas . I endure hoping part two will solve many questions . But to my surprise There was not part two yet . That's one of my beefs with authors . Why not write two or three then have them published . it makes me not want to read books in series . I'm just saying .
