The storyline was excellent! I had a long drive & I thought listening to a book would help the time go by quicker. I was gasping as soon as I started listening!
I'm moving on to the 2nd book now.

A serial killer returns after years of inactivity in this gripping new thriller. The green-paint-bathtub killer had Reacher running blind back in the day. I was hoping for more here but it was ok. It started strong but ended up kind of just okay as far as Reacher books go. I prefer more action I guess.

He's the first person Decker ever arrested for murder back when he was a young detective. Something sinister is going on in Baronville. The rust belt town has seen four bizarre murders in the space of two weeks. Cryptic clues left at the scenes - obscure Bible verses, odd symbols - have the police stumped. Amos Decker and his FBI colleague Alex Jamison are in Baronville visiting Alex's sister and her family. It's a bleak place: a former mill and mining town with a crumbling economy and rampant opioid addiction. Decker has been there only a few hours when he stumbles on a horrific double murder scene.

I loved the story but the narration style was very annoying. When the are only 2 people in the room, you don't need to keep stating who said what; especially if it's a man & a woman (said Decker, said Jameson etc...) It really took away from the story, but I will still purchase the 5th book in this series.

Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

I enjoyed this book a lot. My only criticism is it took too long to understand why the main character was so secretive about her past. I was hoping for that a little sooner.
