this is probably better consumed as a paper book. Listening to recipes read aloud is sort of pointless.

Listened to this on a single long car ride with my daughter. I really enjoyed the book, despite common elements with other dystopian novels. The narration is annoying, however, especially in instances where Jonas' words are read.

This is an exhausting listen, but very worthwhile. You'll find criticism of the accuracy of the historical details, so it's not meant as a tactical military history. It nonetheless does an amazing job of putting the listener with the men who lived this and providing a window into how they likely experienced it. Very highly recommended.

This was a fascinating overview of Amsterdam's history. Thorough without bogging down. I lived there long ago and wish I'd had this much context for what made the city unique then. I'll see it through different eyes now.

I do wonder at the descriptions of the brothers ' motivations. Its almost written as though the author was actually inside their heads.

A brilliant performance, but I'd rather read this slowly. The nonsense upon nonsense is a bit hard to follow with an audiobook.
