Starting to drift from Lit RPG, but still fun as a story.
many reader's are starting to complain the series is drifting from Lit RPG. I agree, there are far too many feelings, emotions, self discovery, and sex for an RPG. However, the quest aspect has maintained a portion of the RPG genre, to an extent. Overall, the story has transitioned from Lit RPG with a touch of fantasy literature and begin to enter into fantasy literature with a touch of RPG.
still an enjoyable listen if you follow the story and character development aspect.
Cheers.

Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the ten consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

John Perry did two things on his 75th birthday. First, he visited his wife's grave. Then he joined the army. The good news is that humanity finally made it into interstellar space. The bad news is that planets fit to live on are scarce - and alien races willing to fight us for them are common. So, we fight, to defend Earth and to stake our own claim to planetary real estate. Far from Earth, the war has been going on for decades: brutal, bloody, unyielding.
