After taking in Book 1, I did not hesitate to choose Book 2. The author completely satisfies the desire for a grand story of heroes -- both the common and the royal -- and the vast range of experiences that birth their greatness. The characters are fantastical yet believable because of the strengths and weaknesses of their humanity. The Bird and Sword Chronicles are epic tales of adventures that intertwine battles, romance, friendship, life, death, loyalty. treachery and magic with a remarkable use of words that left me feeling like I'd heard the best song ever sung and the most fabulous symphony ever played. Of course, the narrator was an integral component to the success of the audio version.

What a fantastical experience I enjoyed on the journeys of the Golem and the Jinni! The author and the narrator skillfully wove a rich tapestry of lives, events and places that came together in my mind like a movie of epic proportions! Adventure, mystery, fantasy and romance in historical settings and contexts made this an unforgettable tale!

I immediately looked for the other audio books in this series and disappointingly had to obtain them from another audiobook company (two free books for a month's trial). The author and narrator conveyed adventure, drama, science, mystery, tragedy, character development, humor, love and purpose in an imaginative story and setting that could potentially emerge into reality. I like audio books in which I experience all the feelings of watching a movie or even being in the story. This was one of those,

I usually like YA novels, but this one was too Y for me. The overall concept was carried off well, and the music was a nice touch. The narrators did a great job with their parts. Going back to different music periods would be educational for kids. This would be an entertaining listen for 3rd to 5th graders.

Addresses the typical self-esteem and peer pressure aspects of 12-year-old girls. Victims, bullies and heroes are presented. This is the intro to a series which I'm not interested in following, even though I've been through many YA books.

After first listening with delight to the fabulous dramatization of Richard Kipling's "The Jungle Book: The Mowgli Series", I immediately selected Book Two, which I do not recommend. This reader was so monotonously boring that I couldn't endure past chapter 3. Honestly, Alan Munro made the story difficult to pay attention and comprehend the narrative. in addition, I thought Book 2 would pick up where the first left off, but it does not.
