Subsequent immigrants didn't confront or assimilate into an "American" or "Canadian" culture, but rather into one of the 11 distinct regional ones that spread over the continent each staking out mutually exclusive territory. Excellent read for those interested in understanding the cultural complexities and dynamics of the United States and its surrounding nations. It makes so much of what we see today understandable, and answers the many "why" questions I often have about the different attitudes & behaviors expressed within different states and regions I've visited or lived in. It makes so much sense now.

As a person looking to gain more working knowledge of the financial markets and systems, I find that this book does a great deal to help unwind and make sense of a very complicated field of our collective realities. I intend to reread this book as there was so much information covering so many areas within the financial markets. Glad I came across this book, and I look forward to reading more of the author's books on similar topics.

The original self-help classic - fully updated for the 21st century! In 1902, James Allen wrote a classic book that was to inspire millions. It was called As a Man Thinketh and became one of the most influential personal improvement books ever written. It provided a series of philosophical considerations on the power of our own thoughts. The conclusion of the book is that 'we become what we think about' - which later became the inspiration behind the best-selling movie The Secret, and the modern self-help movement.
