Steve doesn’t know who he is. Or who he was. He doesn’t know anything, actually. Not even where he is. Other than a vast open field of dirt. All Steve knows is that he’s apparently supposed to build a farm. At least that’s his only workable assumption. Given the number of farm-tools left to him. That and the massive number of sacks full of seeds. Unfortunately, this isn’t even the strangest part of this new life. Hidden inside the farm tools, Steve finds messages. Messages that appear in floating windows in front of him.

Admittedly, I am starting this series with this book, so I don't have the background of what happened in book 1. That said, I still rather enjoyed the book and didn't feel too lost. There was tons of action that made it a fun listen. Narration was done well too.

Wow, this series just keeps getting better. I honestly think this is the best one yet (at least once the chapter order thing was fixed). Anyway, the narration is fantastic and Brad is an awesome main character. Definitely a series I want to continue.

I would definitely recommend reading or listening to the first 2 books before this one. Not that you need it to follow what is going on (it's a post apocalyptic story, after all) but I can see how it would make it more interesting to have the background knowledge about the survivors. The narration is very good and I have thoroughly enjoyed this whole series. On to book 4

So, I struggled with this one... It was just bad... It was full of overused tropes and just felt shallow. The main character was just annoying. The narration is done well, but it just wasn't enough to keep my interest. After about the halfway mark I just couldn't do it anymore and turned it off.

The Containment Zone is a 500-mile radius surrounded by mountains and closed in by gates. No one can leave, and anyone who tries will die. Within are lawless bandits, corrupt soldiers, and once-human greyskins that hunt down people to spread the virus. Some say the Containment Zone is where the greyskin virus originated. Others say the people inside are little more than lab rats being studied by the nefarious Screven government. When 12-year-old Skylar and her father, Liam, are caught trying to escape, they are taken to Vulture Hill, a government prison camp no one has ever left alive.

This was a great zombie apocalypse story. Apparently this series starts years after a previous series by the same author, but as of this review, I haven't listened to it yet. That said, I didn't feel lost and thought this book stands on it's own really well. The narration is done well and the characters were interesting and I found myself rooting for him. This is definitely a series I will continue.

As with the first book, this was geared towards a younger audience but still really good. My son and I listened to this book together too and, like last time, we both enjoyed it. The narration continues to be well done. I really enjoyed where the author is taking the story in the series. Definitely a great listen and one I would recommend for fans of fantasy of all ages.

For centuries, humans and dragons existed side-by-side in Alveria, bonded by their care of one another. But no longer. After decades with no viable eggs, humans far outnumber dragons, and the survival of the species appears bleak. The outlook for everyday humans is little better as rogue dragons raid and torment villages. Yet it’s far worse for the tamers, beaten and killed simply for serving the noble dragons. But eking by at the bottom of Alverian society isn’t any easier for 17-year-old Kaelan Younger. Harder still when her loyalty to the dragon crown is no secret.

Although a bit slow starting, I think this was a decent book. The narrator is kind of dry, though, which I thought was a big contributing factor. That aside, it was still a decent book. I got used to the dry narration after a couple hours and it stopped bothering me. I'm on the fence whether or not I will continue the series.

But there's something strange about this oil rig. For one thing, it looks more like a scientific research facility. And for another, there are no people - only piles of clothes with no bodies in them. It soon becomes clear that something is loose on the rig. Something deadly. It's stalking them, one by one, but it's not just a horrible death they have to fear - it's what comes after.
