I listen to these while at work during the day, these help my day progress pretty contently (if that's a word). I became invested in the characters after I learned to adjust to the narrator. I don't really like the narrator. I don't like her using accents...sometimes the Marco/Peyton situation became annoying, but maybe cause I know folks like that in real life..Anyway, if you like entertaining stories that move along nicely, where you may be able to picture the characters. I recommend this

This is the way the world ends. For the last time. A season of endings has begun. It starts with the great, red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. It starts with death, with a murdered son and a missing daughter. It starts with betrayal and long-dormant wounds rising up to fester. This is the Stillness, a land long familiar with catastrophe, where the power of the Earth is wielded as a weapon. And where there is no mercy.

I started this book and was a bit thrown off with how great the reviews are, it was a slow multi start listen for me. I did feel it was worth it though. I hesitate too give it less stars because, I know how can just plan not be on the mood for a particular piece of work. By the middle I was invested, at the end I was ready to by part 2.
