wow. i mean WOW. I would make this a rave reviews because the story was so excellent, exceptional, grand - what scope! what imagination! what thoroughness!! BUT. the author uses the F word so gratuitously throughout it becomes an assault on the sensibilities. hated it. won't keep it. will never recommend it to anyone. alas. what a loss to the sci fi community. great story. great reader. couldn't get over the hundreds of instances of serious, offensive, pointless cursing.

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

loved the bad guys, big bugs and all the steam punk elements. great fight scenes. dragged a little but the characters were decent. third book has stupid and gratuitous cursing. hated that so much I won't let my kids listen to the trilogy and that's such a shame. the cursing did nothing to help the plot.
would have liked more information on the Earth's future aspect. how did the bugs get big? what happened to all the electronics that were lost?
over all a fabulous read. great performance. but the cursing wrecked it for me and I will return it to Audible.
