Twenty years after the Starr Report and the Clinton impeachment, former special prosecutor Ken Starr finally shares his definitive account of this period in American history. Now Starr finally shares his unique perspective on the investigation that began with the Whitewater land deal and spread to a wide range of President Clinton's actions, including accusations of sexual harassment and perjury in the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Starr's narrative includes behind-the-scenes details that have never before emerged as well as a new analysis from the perspective of history.

Whoa ... I really had no idea. Living through this time of history and getting my views from the media at the time I really did not know the whole story. Who did? This is the first Starr has given the inside account. Love or hate the Clintons, love or hate Starr it is worth the read. Starr is the narrator which I think adds to the story.

In the early hours of a quiet weekend morning in Manhattan's Diamond District, a brutal triple murder shocks the city. Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs quickly take the case. Curiously, the killer has left behind a half-million dollars' worth of gems at the murder scene, a jewelry store on 47th street. As more crimes follow, it becomes clear that the killer's target is not gems but engaged couples themselves.

I don't think even the author knows what this book is about ... he drones on about diamonds, terrorists, Hindu history, fracking, a crazy Environmentalist ... UGH. Deaver doesn't realize we can find about all this meaningless crap by searching wikipedia for ourselves. He needs to figure out what the story line is and stick with it. I would not recommend this book.

For nearly a decade, Amy Chozick chronicled Hillary Clinton's pursuit of the presidency. Chozick's front-row seat, initially at the Wall Street Journal covering Mrs. Clinton's imploding 2008 campaign, and then at the New York Times where she was assigned "The Hillary Beat", set off a years-long journey in which the formative years of her twenties and thirties became, both personally and professionally, intrinsically intertwined to Clinton's presidential ambitions.

Judge Richard Quinn is young, idealistic, and honest to a fault. That's why he's handed the most sensational homicide case in Oregon history. Locked in a race for the U.S. Senate, Ellen Crease gunned down the intruder who murdered her wealthy husband. In a single, brutal instant she became a widow, a victim, and a hero. Yet disturbing questions remain. What secrets did the man who started his fortune running mortuaries keep that might have cost him his life?

This is one of Margolin's early books and wasn't his best (I love most of his books) but the narrator RUINED this story and made it almost impossible to finish. Dawe does the silly female voices, dumb male voices, is staccato and sounds like he is reading poorly, rather than performing. I won't be able to buy other books by this narrator.

Before Harry took on the neo-Nazi gangs of Oslo, before he met Rakel, before The Snowman tried to take everything he held dear, he went to Australia. Harry Hole is sent to Sydney to investigate the murder of Inger Holter, a young Norwegian girl who was working in a bar. Initially sidelined as an outsider, Harry becomes central to the Australian police investigation when they start to notice a number of unsolved rape and murder cases around the country. The victims were usually young blondes. Inger had a number of admirers, each with his own share of secrets, but there is no obvious suspect.

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

I kept waiting for this to become the story as reviewed but it ended with me feeling mild satisfaction for a mediocre story ... THEN the epilogue happened and it was just ridiculous. It was silly (dumb) and a huge stretch to end on this note. Surprisingly written by two female authors - one of whom was an editor. Not a great story at all.
