I love a good series and this is "shaping" up to be a great one! The story is imaginative and unpredictable. The characters are flawed but fascinating. The narration is perfection! I can't wait for the next book to come out.

In typical JA Huss fashion, this story twists and turns to a point you have no idea where she's heading but love it when you get there. I love a good movie star story but this was really way more than that!

Carian Cole is one of my favorite authors and this book is one of the reasons why. She writes with such passion and with such perspective. I loved this story! It was told in such an amazing way that that takes away (or at least attempts to) the stigma of mental illness and the fact that many people are functioning with undiagnosed and untreated mental illnesses and how it impacts those who love them. This story touched my soul, and that doesn't happen often. Absolutely recommend this book!

What a fun story. I laughed, I loved, I throughly enjoyed this book. As fun as it was, it also has a lot of heart. Tad Branson is such a compelling narrator. He makes you feel like you are right next to him and he's telling this story directly to you. He could read the phone book to me and I would be completely entertained. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Another winner by the creative mind of JA Huss! If you've listened to the Taking Turns series or even if you haven't, you will enjoy this book very much. A child prodigy with an aversion to being in looked at?!?!?! I mean really, how does she come up with this stuff! The story just flows and it's over way too soon but then you get a little taste of the next book in the series and you can't wait for that one to come out. I love how she draws you in and you feel like you are right there with the characters. Plus, I really love the voice of the person who narrates for Jordan, Teddy Hamilton. I'd listen to his voice all day long.....

It always fascinates me how JA Huss comes up with these perfectly imperfect characters and how she makes me fall in love with them even though they are very, very flawed individuals. This book is dark, very dark. The main character, Merc, shows up in some of her other stories but this is the first time you really get to know him and he's not a nice guy. In spite of that, there is just something about him.... I think it takes a true genius to put a very unlikable character in front you and get you to really like him by the end. JA Huss is that genius! This book touched on a lot of elements you generally don't create stories around but she makes it work so flawlessly! If you read the Rook & Ronin, Spencer & Ford and The Company books, you HAVE to keep going with this one - you will be glad you did!

The story itself was pretty good. However I almost didnt finish this because I just didnt care for the narrator. I did stick with it and am glad I did. This book series is part of the Romance Package so its not loke I spent full credit to listen. I'm intrigued about what happens next so I'm going to try to listen to the entire series. The narrator changes in future books, I just gotta stick with it until then.

What an amazing story. Only JA Huss can make you fall in love and root for a seasoned assassin! If you like intrigue and suspense thrown in with your romance, you will not be disappointed.

Three books on Rook and Ronin aren't enough! What a fantastic series. Great characters, surprising plot twists, steamy sex (pun intended). I could listen to this again and again.
