Hadley Cooper believes in happily-ever-afters with her whole heart. Described by her friends as a wide-eyed, eternal optimist, she looks for the bright side in most any situation. However, when her job as the assistant manager of Silhouette, a posh boutique on Rodeo Drive, is on the line, she realizes it's time to pull her head out of the clouds and find a way to turn business around, and that just might mean partnering with the most stubborn up-and-coming fashion designer she's ever encountered.

I have loved this entire series. I'm glad to see all the updates during the epilogue as well. I couldn't wait to see how Hadley's story would play out, but have to say, its probably my least favorite. I cant put my finger on the issue, but this book seemed almost unMelissa Braydenish. It seemed different than her other books. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it seems different. Like I said, its well worth the read, and I loved the tied up lose ends with everyone.

Scarlett McKennon’s life in the big city is a big flop. Her cupcake bakery went under, her roommate at her expensive apartment left her high and dry, and her girlfriend just reacted to “I love you” with “No thanks.” Her sophisticated metropolitan dream has crumbled all around her, and the only thing left to do is pull up stakes and return to the small town where she grew up. What could be worse than limping home in defeat? The minute she steps off the train, Scarlett finds out: her first love, Joan, is waiting there to drive her into town, looking quite sexy.

I finished this book 16 hours ago and it's taken me this long to decide what I want to say here. During the entire book I kept thinking, "OMG this is one of the best books. I am gonna leave a hella review." When the book was done, I wasn't sure that was still the case. This is the second book in 3 days that I have listened to by this narrator. I actually searched her because the other book was done so well. She did not disappoint during this book. She was fantastic. The characters were lovable and you could just feel the chemistry between them. The other characters were just as lovable and added to the story nicely. Here is my issue. You keep watching the chapters go by and its Spencer not choosing. They are together once, and it's brief. As the book ending is drawing near you think, "Dear God are they not going to get together?" They do, but its in the final page. You never get to see them together, happy or not. There is no view of them with each other or declarations of love. I loved this book but that fact, and the fact that Spencer had a chance to choose and she chose the other woman, left an unexpected bad taste in my mouth. Suddenly I went from loving it, to being pretty disappointed in the fact she didn't choose the main love interest, but it was chosen for her.

Former US Army pilot Lauren and Police Training Instructor Kim share a love of country, a sense of duty, and grief for a woman who left them too soon. That she was a friend to one and a lover to the other should at least give them something on which to build a friendship. But from the moment they met, they've been at odds. When Lauren gets a job at the same police department as Kim, they are forced to at least fake professional respect. Eventually, respect and begrudging attraction turn to affection and then something deeper.

After reading the reviews I thought this would be a great listen. Maybe the actual book was, but the narrator ruined this for me. Dee's "Boston" accent was awful and there were times that she would speak in the accent when Maddison was talking. Maybe that voice was my main turn off with this one. I am assuming the book is better, so maybe try it.

I loved every second of this book. In my opinion its one of the top 3 books from Melissa Brayden. During this series I had always felt that Gia's story was going to be my favorite. I just had no idea that it's book would revisit so many characters from her past books. I screamed when Mallory Spencer arrived, and swooned when Jordan Tuscana and Hunter Blair showed up as well. Perfectly written and has now joined the ranks with Just Three Words and How Sweet it is as my favorite Melissa Brayden books.

What made the experience of listening to Strawberry Summer the most enjoyable?

There were times that I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or cry....or scream, "what the hell Courtney?!" There was just a sweetness to this whole story. A tortured love that has you cheering for it, and makes you grieve it at times.

What other book might you compare Strawberry Summer to and why?

Just Three Words and the SoHo series. Not since those books have I loved a group of characters this much.

What does Paige McKinney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Amazingly done. The perfect choice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I finished the audible version in 24 hours. Damn you work and sleep. Yes, if I could have, it would have been one sitting.

Any additional comments?

This story makes you laugh, cry and cheer. You fall in love with every single character. I don't know that I have listened to a book where I cried. Clay had that happen. This book, in any form, is money well spent.
