I’m so glad I finally started this series, and more so that I was able to start it on Audio! I’ve only been listening to audiobooks a little over a year now, but I’ve been want to listen more, and this was a great one to start the year with! I loved the characters and story, and Dollcie has such an amazing voice! I loved hearing her bring author Hoyle’s characters to life! While listening to this, I found out Dollcie narrates a few other books I’m wanting to read/listen to, and I can’t wait to read more of K.B. Hoyle’s books (especially the rest of The Gateway Chronicles now that I’ve finished the first book), so they both gained a new fan/follower!

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by K.B. Hoyle. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

I was excited to read this, as many of you might know I love the classic fairy-tale type stories, and am also up for an adaption/retelling! I've also read some of this authors work in the past, though I admit it's been a while. Chantal Gadoury has quite a few books on my TBR though, and I had hoped that listening to this would encourage me to get to the others soon, and it just might have worked!

I loved listening to this, and am excited that it's a series. I really enjoyed the world Chantal Gadoury created, and Dollcie Webb was the perfect pick to cast for the audiobook. As mentioned in my review/post for The Gateway Chronicles series, I loved her voice, and was excited to find she also narrated this book!

Lena and her home in the Skagerrak sea caught my attention, but I soon realized that this book was more complex and holds surprising twists at every turn! I loved the depth of the story and how its common origins didn't prevent Gadoury from making it her own and really building and branching out into something new.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Chantal Gadoury. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

After reading Power of Five, I couldn't wait for more, but I'm always hesitant to pick up the second book so soon after finishing the first. What if it's not as good? What if I don't love it? What then? Often times, I find that the second book can make of break a series. Yes, that can be said of any book in a series, especially those that are super long, as there is often a lag toward the middle.

So what about Mistake of Magic? Well, if you can't tell from my rating, I loved it! While the end didn't leave the urgency of Power of Five, I'm still eagerly awaiting more! I'll admit, Mistake of Magic didn't always follow the path I thought it would, but I wouldn't change a thing! Each of the males finally agree that Lera wasn't going anywhere...but how were they going to keep her safe during the Citadel's trials? Well now, that's the question, isn't it? I loved seeing the character growth, and as with the first, each of the males must once again learn how they fit in the quint, and in Lera's life.

Victoria Mei does it again! I loved her voice, and she handles accents, character voices, and emotion so well! Ah! This is one of my favorite series to listen to, amazing story telling combined with Mei's beautiful reading voice!

This is one of those books where I'm not immediately drawn into the story. The beginning felt rushed, and I didn't care for Jorge, though I quickly started to like Gemcie, the main character, and within a short time, I started to care about other characters too. Once the first chapter was out of the way, I quickly fell in love with Gemcie and her passion. The setting and description really brought the story to life, and I loved that both Gemcie and Brady were animal lovers.

I really enjoyed listening to this one on audio! The author's descriptions and the narrator's skill with bringing a story to life really shows through! Linda Ballou and Scott Glennon make such a marvelous team!

Such a fun read! I've read a few of Alex Lidell's other books, and I have to say, so far this is my favorite! She always impresses me with her world-building and action packed plots, but the characters in this one each had their own personality, and really kept me attention. I loved Lera, and Tye is fun, but I loved Shade's the most! That said, it was fun to watch River and Coal interact with Lera as she journey's with the quint.

While I wish the story was a little longer, and the story was very fast-paced, I loved reading it, and the plot was interesting. I can't wait to know what happens!
