So I really enjoyed this book when I read it, I fell for these characters and loved their journey and I can honestly say that I enjoyed the audio version even more! Nick J Russo does a fantastic job bringing these characters and their story to life! I felt like he really delivers on the accents and different personalities and just absolutely nailed it for me. This was everything I look for in an audio book, delivering so much emotion that I just didn't want it to end.

I've been a Felice Stevens fan for quite a while now, she writes these amazing swoony loving stories and now I'm a Nick J Russo fan for bringing them to life in a whole new way. This isn't a long book but it's great and if you're looking for a quick, make your heart so freaking happy audio book, I highly recommend Under the Boardwalk!

I absolutely loved this book when I read it the first time and was definitely excited about the audiobook too and for me, Seth Clayton totally nails the narration. I really felt like he captured the emotions and the characters in this story, he really brought them to life. There are a lot of emotions in this story, both Noah and Oren are dealing with a lot and Mr. Clayton never missed an emotion for me, whether it was a funny moment, passionate one or heavily emotional he delivered every time. I will definitely add him to my favorite narrators and will be on the lookout for other audiobooks from him!

After The Fire is the second book in the Through Hell and Back Series and Felice Stevens delivers a powerful and emotional story and so does narrator Kale Williams. One of my favorite things about Felice’s books is the strong emotion and for me Kale Williams captured all of that so well. There were distinct voices for the characters, their personalities expressed so well.

I love this series and these characters, and Luke and Jordan just totally went straight to my heart. Both men are struggling, Jordan still reeling after the sudden death of his fiance a year ago, and Luke, well Luke has major abandonment issues and lives a very solitary life. These two don’t meet under the best of circumstances and definitely don’t get along right away, but as they have to work together they find a special connection. It’s not easy though, there are demons and secrets and their fragile relationship may be doomed before it really gets going. As these two try to work through the issues, they are again tested and that’s when their real feelings come out.

These two really are just wonderful for each other, both having dealt with so much pain but still realizing the love they have for each other (even if it shocks them both.) There is so much to be dealt with between these two, but they stick together and work it out. Luke and Ash, dealing with their past, oh my heart! Felice again creates a hugely emotional story with all the feels but sweetness and love all around too. I definitely love her writing and think that Kale Williams does a great job bringing the story and the characters to life! I will always read any Felice Stevens book and now I can add Kale Williams to narrators I truly enjoy!

3.5 - 4 Stars

I liked this story, it's one of forgiveness and growing as a person. Both Adrian and Marty have issues that need to be addressed and both learn a lot from each other, about standing up for who you are and about love. Adrian was severely bullied as a teenager and Marty was a part of it and it certainly left a lasting impression on both men. Adrian has become an incredibly strong person, confident and proud and a total Drag Queen star so imagine his surprise when he discovers Marty in the audience.

Marty doesn't have an easy life, he hides who he really is and lives a very lonely life. He doesn't have friends or even connections to other people. He does have the Drag shows though, but when he gets called out one night it makes him question and re-evaluate who he really wants to be. I really did feel bad for him and his struggles even though I didn't really expect to. I think he really has a good heart, but he thinks his family expectations matter more than what he feels and wants.

I liked the relationship these two build once they sort through their issues, they seem to really bring out the best in each other. They both have felt an attraction to the other since their ill-fated high school days and it's sweet to see it finally work for them. I loved the confidence that seemed to grow in both men as well. I would have liked to see more in the growth of their relationship, I felt like the story did jump ahead a bit, but in the end I was happy with the way it all turned out for them. I think Joel Leslie does a great job bringing this story to life and giving it the right amount of feeling. Overall a great an enjoyable story to listen to!

I’m not completely sure how to rate this one to be honest. I think I give the story 3 stars, it was a sweet story but I struggled with the audio narration. I did enjoy Mr. Furlong and his telling of the story as Luke but truly struggled with Ms. Mitchell’s part and found it difficult to separate the narration from the actual character of Roberta. I definitely want to buy a copy of this book and read it for myself as again, it was a sweet and touching story.

This book just didn't do it for me! I felt like everything was blatantly obvious and there was no mystery. I couldn't connect with Grace and honestly didn't like her. I know I'm in the minority here, everyone seemed to love this but unfortunately it wasn't for me.
