This story is so unbelievable and contradicted itself so many times I couldn't finish. it. Waste of money.

Would you try another book from Dorothy Gilman and/or Barbara Rosenblat?

No for Dorothy Gilman but yes for Barbara
rosenblat, she did the best sho could with this material.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dorothy Gilman again?

No.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No, the premise is bad, I listened to a few hours thinking it would somehow get around to making some sense or be somehow whimsical but it just kept getting worse. I resent that Audible put this in their sale as if it could be entertaining. It's from 1985 and it was bad then, worse now.

This was a wonderful book that described the battle both in terms of the action and also with insight into the influence of culture. The author sites many names of those who were heroic but not officers which keeps us attuned to the people who fought this battle as well as the officers and decision makers. The performance was excellent, this book kept us on the edge of our seats even knowing the ending.

Great insight into the way of life for some Brits. The stories set around the occupation of India are fascinating.

Too far fetched.
