I love the series, and just as I think it can't get any better Mr Corey writes one like this. It's a stunner!!!

I read an earlier review complaining about the reader being slow and boring. When I first started listening I couldn't understand what their problem was. However, about halfway through the book I realized that I, too, was getting irritated with the pace of the reading. It got worse as the book continued.

After I finished listening, I re-started the audio and found a significant difference in pace. This is NOT a problem with the reader. It is a technical problem with the recording and should be addressed by the recording staff.

The premise sounded good but the characters were so stupid that I couldn't read (listen to) it! First of all, what loving father would allow cameras into the hospital room to question his ill & semi-conscious child? What hospital would allow the news hoards past the lobby? It only went down hill from there. A definite NOPE!

Got thru 7 interminable chapters before giving up. Nothing but adolescent philosophy. No action or real story line.

Many of the reviews I read of this book dissed the new narrator. I disagree entirely. I found his performance to be top flight. His acting ability and vocal range added tremendously to an already excellent book. I intend to find other books that he has read.

As for the story itself - Butcher has produced another excellent tale. However, in this volume I felt that he indulged in a bit too much preachyness, explanation and repetition. That's why I only gave it 4 stars.

I knew before I started that Dresden was still alive, (I'd read the blurb of the next book when making my audible purchases) but the ending and the manner of his survival were entirely satisfying and entertaining. I didn't get anywhere near that surprise ending in my guesses. I won't provide spoilers here - go read for yourself.

I recommend it highly and am about to start in on the next volume. Well done, Mr Butcher. I hope you continue writing this series. I can't wait to see (hear) what comes next!

The book was middle-of-the-road for this particular series. I like the series but this narrator was so irritating that it was difficult to listen to. She makes women's voices sound squeeky - like cartoons. She needs a lot more practice and better vocal ranges.

If you could sum up Limits of Power in three words, what would they be?

This is a wonderful book by one of my favorite authors. It continues the story of Paks' friends from Fox company with several surprising twists. Can't wait for the next one.

What didn’t you like about Angela Dawe’s performance?

Angela had good voices and vocal differentiation but she didn't do her homework. She absolutely butchered the pronunciations of the people and places in the book, as well as many ordinary words in the English language. I absolutely cringed every time and found it extremely distracting. I highly recommend that any reader who takes over a series first listen to the previous books and find out how all the other readers pronounced things.

Any additional comments?

Elizabeth, I know you not our "bi*ch", but when is the next one coming out?

What did you love best about The Paradise War?

Lawhead's books are always intricate and detailed, showing the careful research into his subjects and time. While his prose can be overly wordy, I find his explanations and backgroud material to be highly interesting. His character development is excellent.

What didn’t you like about Stuart Langston’s performance?

The reader sounds like a character out of Dragnet. His performance is so dry, toneless, and yes - boring, that I found him a total distraction. He succeeded in nearly destroying my enjoyment of the book. He is so difficult to listen to that I kept losing track of the story. I needed to keep repeating passages of the book in order to follow the story line.

Any additional comments?

I will nevery buy another book read by this reader.
