Correctional officer Xavier Brown hates his job at the prison he works at outside of Atlanta. The pay sucks, his coworkers annoy him, and he's forced to be around a bunch of drug dealers, rapists, and murderers doing time. Two months in, he's pretty much learned the ropes. And just when he thinks the day would end like every other day, he stumbles upon a new inmate, Raheem Jones, who has more in his hands than simple contraband.

A pioneer of LGBTQ studies dares to suggest that gayness is a way of being that gay men must learn from one another to become who they are. The genius of gay culture resides in some of its most despised stereotypes - aestheticism, snobbery, melodrama, glamour, caricatures of women, and obsession with mothers - and in the social meaning of style.

They say a good man is hard to find. Kardell Spencer and Lewis Turner know this all too well. Neither is lucky in love. Kardell Spencer is a hard-working, successful advertising company owner who has a no nonsense approach to work and professionalism. Lewis Turner is Kardell's flamboyant, over-the-top employee. They are polar opposites. Lewis speaks how he feels. Sometimes the things he says are so shocking that they leave people around him gasping for air.

"The first chance I got, I bought my very first bag of crystal methamphetamine... A monster was born. Try as I might, there is simply no way for me to minimize the impact with which crystal meth slammed into my life, at least not without straying far from the truth. It was like throwing a forty-pound sledge hammer though a plate glass window. What a cunning thing this was that lived inside of me. How could I ever hope to win against it? My good intentions meant nothing what I lacked was power."
