There is nothing I could write that would do this fascinating listen justice. If neuroscience interests you even in the slightest, get this immediately. It's presented in a way that the layman can understand, be entertained by, informed by, and not be insulted by. Superb audiobook in every respect.

In the tradition of Bertrand Russell's Why I Am Not a Christian and Sam Harris' recent best-seller, The End of Faith, Christopher Hitchens makes the ultimate case against religion. With a close and erudite reading of the major religious texts, he documents the ways in which religion is a man-made wish, a cause of dangerous sexual repression, and a distortion of our origins in the cosmos.

Huge fan of Hitch, what he stood for, and what he has come to represent. But, I have to agree with other posters here that the sound quality of this Audible audio book is deplorable. The sub-standard quality of the sound engineering job done on this narration makes it unbearably painful to listen to while driving. One needs to crank the volume in the car up to full blast to hear the softly spoken parts. Then, when a word is spoken at normal volume levels, the poor listener's ears are assaulted by a skull-crushing shockwave of mega high intensity sound.
Audible's sound quality is 50/50, and that is sad since the content of most of their audio books deserves to be recorded properly.

Agree with Dylan's world view or not, this book is funny. The narration style only adds to the performance to make this way too amusing. I totally recommend this to ALL dudes.

You Are Now Less Dumb is grounded in the idea that we all believe ourselves to be objective observers of reality - except we’re not. But that's okay, because our delusions keep us sane. Expanding on this premise, McRaney provides eye-opening analyses of 15 more ways we fool ourselves every day. This smart and highly entertaining audiobook will be wowing listeners for years to come.

After a few chapters of this horrendous narrator's ear shredding sibilance, I couldn't care less what this book was about. A total waste of a credit and a total shame; the content is worth listening to if you don't care about the longevity of your hearing. After a while, I was no longer able to concentrate of the content; I found myself cringing in anticipation of another wince-inducing string of cerebrum-slicing sibilant sssssss's. Ugh.
Sound quality is a huge problem with Audible's products and the reason why I'll be ditching my account.
