The narration for this book leaves a lot to be desired. The way the narrators spoke was as if they were reading. Yes, they are reading, but does it have to sound like it. Not sure if they recorded I. two separate locations but how the audio was assembled it lacked, everything. The sound effects don't match what the action was. "He slammed the door" tink. That's the sound a SLAMMED door makes? I hold onto the book because I enjoy the story. Very cheesy but, it's something to numb my mind when I'm tired.
I'm also working during how are these authors gaining the title "Best Selling" when their books aren't that good? hmm, guess I'll never know. However, I must give Michelle Howard thumbs up for putting time in creating content for us to read/listen to. I'm not a writer, as you can tell, but I can only imagine how hard it must be to put time and love into a creation, then read comments of people dissecting and your hard work.
The narration was awful. These narrators read other books that I have and they are just as bad if not worse, but I do enjoy the "read" so I purchase and I listen.

I'm breaking up with setups. No more “you should meet my son, nephew, grandson, the butcher, the guy down the street who mows my lawn.” People mean well, but machines know better, so I'll rely on the great dating algorithms of the web to find my ideal man, thank you very much. Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him - his screen name is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted, and full of heart. But when we finally get together in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before. Funny enough - he says the same thing about me.

Shaye Archer's life effectively began the night police found her in an alley, beaten and abused and with no memory of the previous 15 years, not even her name. Nine years later, she's a licensed private investigator with a single goal - to get answers for her clients when there aren't supposed to be any. And maybe, someday, answers for herself.

I listened to this book when it first hit CD. it was funny then and even funnier now. Ana Fields had a way of bringing lifebuoy all the characters in this book and all of the books she narrates for Susan Elizabeth Phillips. SEP, is a witty author and she writes so that you're thinking about what you just read hours later. This book was hard tinpot down. when I had to press stop, I was so anxious to get back to it. This entire series is worth the credits and money. Go get the whole series and see if hours not laughing your buns off.
I love how she has a regular everyday heroin who suits these macho athletes wit for wit. It's like a high speed chase only with wits!
if you were on the fence about getting this book. don't be, you'll enjoynit as much as I have.

Nothing is more important to Blake Anderson than the work he does with his brothers at Ace Security. At least that's what he thinks until he meets the fiercely independent Alexis Grant. The security firm's new intern pushes all his buttons - and makes his temperature rise. But giving in to temptation might be risky business. Alexis can tell that Blake has his doubts about her ability to commit. But while most people look at her and see only a flighty rich girl, she knows he sees much more.

I didn't enjoy this story. Not sure if it's the story of the narration but the time I spent listening to the book I think I sighed multiple times.
I got the book because the reviews were really good, only to listen to book one and go "Surely book 2 is better." No, it's not. Just a bad.
So, Alexis is a rich girl whose had6jobs since she graduated from college. She's 27 and she's bored. After her neither is rescued after being kidnapped and blackmailed, she decided she'd going to work with ACE Security and help them out a bit. She really enjoys what she does and eventually started to develops feelings for one is the brothers, Brad.
Brad is in like with her as well but neither one of them had mentioned it to the other. He's trying to get to know Lexi better and show her that it's OK to let others pay for your meal and be gentlemanly.
Lexi's parents hit it big and became extremely wealthy and her problems began there. Her old friends began reading her differently when she became rich and it's been a source of embarrassment and hurt ever since.
SO, she wants to help the guys stop a gang "Inca Gang" and she goes undercover. blah blah blah. She plays the rich girl in order to infiltrate the gang and they catch on to her lie and kidnap her so they can get the $$$$ to bail their leader of of jail. She gets caught, beat up, she fights back, gets saved, Brad asks her to marry him. The End.
Worth a credit? Not to me. I crazily got all 4 books, and they're all the same, just different characters. Girl in danger, man likes girl that's in danger. Girl doesn't want his help, she tried to fix the problem herself. it doesn't work. Man comes save girl in danger. They get married. The End
I have other Susan Stoker books that are much better.

I did not care for the narrator. All characters sounded the same, couldn't really tell anyone from anyone. Get the physical book, it may read better if you do your own narration, but then again, is just not really a good read. JMO (just my opinion)

I'm not good at writing reviews.

TBH, I skipped through the book just trying to hurry and finish it. This is my 2nd time trying to listen to this book and I still can't. I think if I read the actual book I would've enjoyed it more, but....
The narrator reads in the same rhythm the entire book, so I really can't tell you anything about the story or if the characters were layered enough, or if there was a plot. Sorry for the not so great review, I couldn't get through it. I just finally turned it off.

When I read a book is more dramatic. With this book I actually fell asleep listening to it and felt as if I missed nothing. I have this problem all the time, getting a book then the narrator makes the book not good so I return it.

I really can't share a lot about the book because I couldn't get pads the narration. I don't envy narrator, they have a difficult going voices they've never done.

So, Abbs finds Tomasso in a cage in the back of her friends cargo plane. She frees him then "BAM!" first sex scene. Just out of no where. So they escape, she hits her head the land on a island where she nurses him back to health, then she gets sick, almost dies and he turns her. His brother (from Runaway Vampire, which is a good book TO READ!) and his life mate show up and it's all sex and not so great narration. So I struggle through the rest of the book to the end. The Italian accent was horrible, with YouTube out there this accent should've been better. I hate saying negative things about a book or narrator because I know hours of work went into it but.....I just didn't feel it.
I'll be returning the book to get my credit back. I think from now on, I'll purchase paperback or hardback of her books and read, it's more entertaining when I physically read the books.

I love this series but when I heard the voice of the narrator, I screamed.

I'm not saying that she's not a good narrator, just not for this series. Even if she had started the series, I don't think I'd be listening to it.

So, I couldn't make it through the book. I literally skipped from chapter 5 to 19 to the second acknowledgements. I just couldn't do, so no real review from me.
