At night, guttural noises issue from behind the walls, and the family reports seeing a terrifying figure wandering the premises. Desperately seeking someone with experience in supernatural matters, Joseph calls upon his uncle, Marcel. Retired surgeon Marcel Dubois has a special gift: The ability to communicate with his dead wife. Harnessing this gift allows him to plumb the depths of the afterlife and to confront the paranormal.

I love that this book had a twist on ghost that I have never heard before or. And the amateur ghost hunter did a great job of riding his nephews home of them. No spoiler alert but I was very surprised by the ending. I don’t want to say to much but to open your mouth and see an eye. Omg I would have freaked out.
Once again this author and narrator did an outstanding story.

This series goes above and beyond. The stories just kept getting better. Shane the main character keeps getting stronger with each small part of his body that is lost to the dead.
From Lighthouse, prison, hospital or the woods Shan will the dead or they will find him.

The narrator did so many different voices and I was not disappointed with his performance.
You can not go wrong with this book.

In July 1972, Deputy Sheriff Gerard Schaefer picked up two teenage girls, Pamela Wells (17) and Nancy Trotter (18), who were hitchhiking to a local beach. He told them it was illegal to hitchhike in the area and that he would take them back to safety. He lied. Schaefer took them to a remote wooded area where he drew his gun, tied them up, gagged them, and looped nooses around their necks. Schaefer received a call on his police radio and had to leave the girls, but he vowed to return and finish what he’d started.

Born and raised in Florida I am wondering how I never heard of this before now. Married to a cop and this book makes you wonder just who you can trust. I never had trust issues with my husband but I can’t say the same same for our preacher now that was a man who would take any woman that would let him. Sorry for going on but had to get that out. This story is totally unbelievable that someone could have such vile tendencies towards another human being. And after researching this man I am glad that another took his life while he was in prison. And to think he buried them and dug them up for sex afterwards. Sick sick man. I don’t blame his mother for never contacting him. The book was written and narrated wonderful but the story makes you sick.

Bainbridge Island is west of Seattle across the Puget Sound. The Island is approximately the same size as Manhattan, but there are just over 20,000 people who live there. Bainbridge Island is filled with soaring forests, plush landscapes, gorgeous views, and expensive waterfront homes. It's the kind of place you go to retire, to vacation, or to really relax and enjoy life. It's not the kind of place you go to die. But people are....

On the morning of the vernal equinox in 1899, Holmes is roused from his bed by Lestrade. The inspector has received a report of a girl brutally murdered at Stonehenge. Upon arriving at the famed site, Holmes discovers the body of a young woman. On her forehead, painted in blood, is a druidic symbol. On her side, also in blood, is a message written in a strange language that neither Holmes nor Lestrade can decipher. The girl was also eviscerated and her organs placed around her body. As a final touch, branches from yew trees had been artistically arranged around the corpse. Holmes senses a malevolent force at work, but without data, he is powerless. As the weeks pass, he slowly gathers information about the ancient druids and Celtic mythology and begins to assemble a small army of experts to assist him.

Barnabus’ nephew is behaving oddly. Calling upon Doctor Humphrey for assistance has not been particularly helpful because the good doctor’s diagnosis of demonic possession is clearly preposterous. Even the demon currently ensconced on the front-room couch agrees it’s preposterous. But then, how else to explain the portal to another world through which his nephew and Humphrey have just now disappeared? Barnabus knows their only chance of rescue is for Barnabus J. Wildebear himself to step up and go through that portal.
