How Real Estate Developers Think considers developers from three different perspectives. Brown profiles the careers of individual developers to illustrate the character of the entrepreneur; considers the roles played by innovation, design, marketing, and sales in the production of real estate; and examines the risks and rewards that motivate developers as people.

I'm not planning to develop any real estate any time soon. However, I was hoping to learn about real estate development to improve my overall understanding of real estate. I made it all the way through, but it was a struggle. It was educational, but I was bored. Some of the stories were interesting, but the complexities were hard to follow in the book format. I'm not likely to recommend this book to anyone.

Having involved myself with house hacking I realized that this strategy represents a phenomenal solution for many folks. And what's most exciting is that house hacking solves a problem for not just one group of people, but several. In fact there are at least three groups for whom this book will pave the way toward success!

The New York Times best-selling author heralds the future of business in Free. In his revolutionary best seller, The Long Tail, Chris Anderson demonstrated how the online marketplace creates niche markets, allowing products and consumers to connect in a way that has never been possible before. Now, in Free, he makes the compelling case that, in many instances, businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them.

Would you consider the audio edition of FREE to be better than the print version?

I appreciated that Chris Anderson both wrote and narrated the audiobook. You can feel his passion through his words.

What other book might you compare FREE to and why?

Freakonomics. I felt that he did a great job of addressing rational decision making and behavioral economics.

What does Chris Anderson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I was able to understand which points were more important through his vocal stress and emphasis.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I much better understand the freemium model.

Any additional comments?

What can you expect from a free audiobook? I was surprised at the quality of the audiobook and the information within. I feel that this book shaped my understanding of business. I feel that I will make better decisions going forward. I invested a lot of my time into this audiobook. I listened to the entire book and I am glad that I took the time to do so.

What made the experience of listening to The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business the most enjoyable?

I appreciated that Mr. Kauffman broke business down into many different segments. It keeps the listeners attention.

What other book might you compare The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business to and why?

Winning by Jack Welch is another favorite. The Personal MBA has more of an academic approach than Winning. Winning provide a lot more stories and is a slower read. The Personal MBA will benefit a lot more people (it's not just for CEO's).

Which character – as performed by Josh Kaufman – was your favorite?

Josh

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to it whenever I have free time.
