Dr. Diane Buckley, a talented freelance forensic psychologist, is drafted in to examine a grisly murder – a body found in a children's playground. The murder carries all the hallmarks of one of her most famous incarcerated clients, 'The Playground Killer' (aka Alfred Dinklage). In a series of intimate 1:1 sessions, Buckley has to race against time to unpick the facts and delve into Dinklage's often manipulative, complicated mind to understand his past whilst striving to prevent further murders....

Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

cliche: it was better than the movie
I grew up watching the film and think it is great but the book fills so many holes left by the movie. Great narration! Thought that King wrapped this one up nicely, to me this was better than 'The Stand'.

I have been on a self-improvement journey, not anymore. I bought this book on a whim. I'm so happy to have listened to it. It is like everything that has been in my brain the past four and a half years was written down by this author. There are no answers there's nothing to help you improve yourself. It is a collection of comments and facts about today's world that are refreshing to hear out loud. Can't wait to listen again!

I purchased this title the day his death was announced. I was so happy to hear his voice and have him tell his own story. As usual he is brutally honest and at the same time a gentleman. The history of his cooking career is enlightening and hilarious. I have little background in professional cooking but was able to understand the bulk of this book. Some terms had to be researched just out of curiosity, but the story was unaffected if I happened to not know the French term for something. This will be worth a second listen.

Hardcore Self Help: F**k Depression is the follow-up to the best-selling F**K Anxiety. In this book I take the information, tips, and insights that I have gained as a psychologist and translate them into language that doesn't suck. This is the self-help book for people who don't usually like self-help books. In Hardcore Self Help: F**K Depression, I talk to you like a friend. That means I speak directly to you, without psychobabble. Instead I tell you why your brain is such a troll.
