Another week, another few clues trickling in about the Circle, the mysterious group that supposedly runs the city's underworld. Gathering intel on my hidden enemies is a painstaking process, but a more immediate mystery has popped up on my radar: a missing girl. My search for the girl begins on the mean streets of Ashland, but with all the killers and crooks in this city, I'm not holding out much hope that she's still alive.

I love Gin,
I respect Gin,
Gin is normally much smarter than me... BUT ...
this time the clues were just too darn obvious. I found her mistakes were something Gin would not normally do, and how come she could not put it together about who killed the girls when she told me the damage inflicted was due to a Dwarf or a Giant's blow? I know there is a a bigger story, that Estep is building, but hey Gin should not lose her touch just because she is retired.

And when her long-gone sister, Rose, is revealed to still be alive, Thorn must make a choice - and risk her own life in the process.

If you could sum up Host in three words, what would they be?

End of arc

What was one of the most memorable moments of Host?

Faith's vision of heaven while Thorn was in the "Otherness"

Would you listen to another book narrated by Natalie Gold?

Maybe- The narration was so slow I had to increase my IPAD speed to 1.25 - then i was able to stay awake

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Devil gets his due.....

Any additional comments?

I am sure Natalie Gold is a great narrator BUT there is ZERO emotion, even during the fights, it's like Thorn is bored- I am sure it's hard to get a character down as good as the narrator does in the Jane Yellowrock series but.. Seem like she's been instructed to leave the personality out of her voice,

I enjoyed all of Kelley Armstrong's previous Women of the Otherworld series. This was the first time offered through audio. I am really not a fan of Hope Adams. Hope just seemed confused and with her flash backs and chaos addiction became one of my least favorite characters. Paige a normally strong character added very little this story. I will buy the next in the series, but I just hope the females will stop needing to be rescued and start saving the day.

Get past the new narrator, this Rachel Morgan book is the culmination of all the past stories. We have many long standing mysterious revealed and many surprises. I have listened to the book twice and I gotten past all the pronunciation issues. Kim is able to recap a previous book in one new sentence as opposed to some authors, actually lazily cutting and pasting whole paragraphs of explanations. I relished each family scene, between Ivy, Rachel and Jenks. This is a story of complex strong characters and relationships, with adventure and fantasy. Rachel Morgan is forging into the EverAfter and I am following every step! Wonderful!

Usually I cannot get enough of strong women characters, I love SF and the Queen of the Vampires seemed to have a concept with a whole lot of potential. But... I don't like her, I don't care about her and she seemed to waste my time. Maybe because the narrator sounded like a valley girl, and I am not from California, but OMG, I am not reading another one.
