She was the only white person in the Jim Crow south who knew racism was WRONG. She is charming. Really, she is. It must be true because she says it over & over. On the other hand, her husband was a dolt. Blah, blah, blah...

Plot... Believability... Throw them out the window. The atmosphere and the characters are what makes these books great.

I'm sure all of Scientology uttered a collective good riddance when she left. Her voice is like nails on a blackboard. Regarding content- I can't believe how gullible she was. I don't understand why someone would spend millions to be a part of Scientology. After listening to this book, I still don't know.

This book had villains that made Snidley Whiplash look like a complex & layered man. Still, I'll probably listen to the next one.

I did finish this book but only because I fell asleep during the last half & only woke for the last chapter. It seems I didn't miss a thing

This was a life changing listen. I haven't seen the movie but it can't possibly have the power of this book.

Parts of this were interesting, but there was too much lingo, too much repetition and a whole lot of stating the obvious.

The central premise of this book, that a responsible woman would have stayed with this guy, is absurd. If you can get past that it passes the time. I finished this one.

This was well worth the time. Good story well told. Only weak part was when he bragged about the "today we will talk like this" scene in WHMS- which threw off the flow of the movie. He should have apologized for that.
