The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park's ice skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be. Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled.

This is one of my favorite book series. One of the reasons for it is the wonderful dead-on narration by Susan Erickson. She really puts you in the story with her different voices. Sometimes I find myself trying to figure out if she had someone else do a voice.
If you like police procedurals and suspense novels, you will enjoy this series and this book in particular. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

She is all the other characters as well. I like having both kindle and audible so I can switch back and forth. With Susan I sometimes forget to switch back. Especially with my new beatsx earphones so I can listen while my husband sleeps.
This newest story really had me guessing whodunnit until Eve figured it out and told Rourke. Another great listen. I recommend it.

A caravan driven at breakneck speed through the hills of Montana is the least of Magdalena Baxter's concerns. Evicted from their home, and due to soon give birth, the Gypsy woman is forced to follow her husband, Oswald, a drunk and abusive miner who hopes to find work in a neighboring town. Despite calling Sweetwater Springs home, wealthy banker Caleb Livingston clings to his elitist East Coast ways. While this may have brought him prestige, he's missed out on romance at every turn.

This story starts out with the excitement and mellows into a heartwarming love story.
If you hadn't read the previous Sweetwater Springs books, you might find the easy rapport between Maggie and the Livingston family a little farfetched. But things have happened to mellow their rigid standards before this to make the way clear for Maggie and her baby to fit right in.
Of course you shouldn't expect it to be all smooth sailing, but Debra Holland has a way with a story making it believable and compelling.
As told by Natalie Ross, you won't be able to stop listening before the all too quick conclusion. Or so it seemed to me.
If you are new to Sweetwater Springs, please start at the beginning so you can appreciate the development of the characters. If you are already a fan, you won't be disappointed.
Thank you Debra and Natalie for another great read/listen.

The cold, precise Duke of Montford demands things his way: neatly ordered, in place, and adhering closely to the rules. So he is furious when he learns that the tenant of his ducal estate has been dead for a year, and a stranger has been running the Honeywell business - which, by contract, is now Montford's. When he arrives in Yorkshire to investigate, he discovers that the estate is being run by an unruly, tomboyish woman - and a bluestocking at that!

I am a voracious reader so I'm always looking for new series and finding this one has been a real pleasure.
I enjoyed listening to Narrator Martha Lee while I wasn't reading the book myself.
The story was riveting as well as just romantic enough. Sometimes you don't need the explicit scenes and this story delivers a perfect mystery and romance without extra sex scenes.
Although I did think it was a little unusual they overlooked some obvious suspects in the beginning, I was satisfied with the conclusion of the case.
Leaving more of the story of Emily's husband to be discovered means I can't wait to keep on reading more in the series. I also hope more will be narrated.

I enjoyed this story very much as I have enjoyed all the Eve Dallas Stories. It revisted a couple of characters from earlier books and hinted at revisting more but alas, Eve figured out the "bad guy" before that happened.
This is my first experience with a first read on audible. I have listened to others but only after reading it for the first time myself.
I have to say, at first I just wanted to pick up a book and reread parts I may have missed but the good thing about listening to audible is the 30 second rewind so it really worked for me.
Susan Ericksen really does a wonderful job with the characters and by the end I was fully immersed in the future world of Eve and Rourke.
Terrific Story and Terrific Performance.
