Hoping to promote the Glass Dolphin antiques shop, co-owners Arabella Carpenter and Emily Garland agree to sponsor a hole in one contest at a charity golf tournament. The publicity turns out to be anything but positive, however, when Arabella’s errant tee shot lands in the woods next to a corpse. They soon learn that the victim is closely related to Arabella’s ex-husband, who had been acting as the Course Marshal. With means, opportunity, and more than enough motive, he soon becomes the police department’s prime suspect, leaving Arabella and Emily determined to clear his name.

This is the 2nd book in the Glass Dolphin Mystery Series, but it stands alone. Antiques shop owners Arabella and Emily sponsor a hole in one contest at a charity golf tournament, however a body is found in the woods. Arabella and Emily investigate the many twists and turns and complicated love connections trying to solve the murder. This was a fun and interesting mystery. I now want to listen to the first book in the series! Nicely read by the narrator. I was gifted a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The eighth book in the series finds John Pickett bound for England's scenic Lake District, where an unsigned letter has summoned him for an unspecified reason. Pickett and his wife Julia, the former Lady Fieldhurst, take a room at the Hart and Hound as the letter instructs him. Once installed there, however, Pickett can do nothing but wait for the anonymous contact to identify himself. A midnight search of the inn's register seems to identify the innkeeper, Ned Hawkins, as his man, but before Pickett can discover the reason for his summons, Hawkins is pushed from a cliff - surviving the fall only long enough to call Pickett's attention to the letter in his pocket.

Peril by Post is part of the wonderful John Pickett Mysteries series. John Pickett is a Bow Street Runner, London's first professional police force. He is sent to the lake country on a working honeymoon with his wife, Julia, to try to find out who was trying to summon Bow Street and why. While investigating, Julia sees a murder in the distance but is too far away to identify the guilty party. Who did it and why?

I love this series! The narrator is so good that the book sounds like a full cast production. The characters are vivid and believable. I look forward to listening to the other books in the series.

We work to the point of extreme exhaustion. Everyone is just too rushed, hurried, and stressed. We alleviate our stress by shopping for more stuff, binge eating, and engaging in time-wasting activities. We fill our lives with needless activities, relationships, and clutter. This makes us lose sense of who we really are and what’s important to us. This is the reason why the Japanese people have developed a lifestyle that strips away the inessential things in their lives. It’s called minimalism. In this audiobook, you’ll hear proven strategies on how to practice minimalism.

This story is a seasonal treat, a modern, lyrical retelling of the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. Eb is a spoiled child who really is not one for caring, and he certainly hates sharing. He is watched over by a very special guardian - the family’s ancient longcase clock, who is bestowed with magic. His name is Grandfather Time. On Christmas Eve, Grandfather Time decides he must teach the boy a lesson.

A new Christmas Carol is a poem geared to kids about sharing and friendship. Young Ebenezer wants more presents and does not want to share with others. He is visited by Grandfather Time who brings him to the past, present and future. Ebenezer decides to try to change. This is a nice story for children. It emphasizes playing outside and with others, not using electronic games and computer. The story is nicely read by the narrator.
