the narrator was really melodic. I loved listening to this before bed, his voice was so soothing. the story line was built up well, but not suspenseful. it's an easy read, decent for all ages. good writing structure.

great narration. love the voices and attitude each character was given. really brought the characters to life.

great story line. caught my attention immediately, and kept me hooked. I loved the world. the working style was well done. the characters had plenty of character.

*********spoiler*******
kinda.....
reminds me of Harry Potter; in so many ways. a child that is treated terribly, but knows they are not bad, but still has some doubts. taken in by a strong, single, male. the rival is a snotty brat. the best friend is slightly mischievous, but always good hearted. and the book ended just like Harry Potter. the main character learning a bit more about themselves and unmasking the true villain.

overall!!! a great listen and I am extremely looking forward to the second book!!! I've already recommended it to another fantasy enthusiast.

I was expecting a spectacular finally, in which I'm unhappy to say, didn't happen. don't get me wrong, it was a good story. it made me feel just as warm as the other books. and I really liked jumping through the other characters prospectives. I feel that this book could have been added to the end of the last book as an extensive wrap up.... but to have it as it's own book, didn't work for me. I'm glad I listened to it, but I wish I had been warned that there was no climax (actually there were, just not in the plot, hint hint) as I had come to expect from the previous 3 books.
I'm hoping that Maas will be writing other books from the other characters prospectives. I love her writing style and the world she's created in this series. I'm sad to hear it end.
I really enjoyed the narrator, she did a great job voicing the characters personalities!
