Not sure if it was this book or because I've listened to all the books in the series but the abused childhood is a bit over done. The story was great and I really loved the book but the abuse is situations are repeated over and over. Again, it seems to be a theme in her latest books so I'm not sure of I'm just over it or if it was overstated in this book. Please don't get me wrong it was a great story and I would recommend it. She's a great writer and all of her books are a five but that is the only reason I gave four.

The narrator did a really great job keeping the mood of the books and the characters personalities in just the right balance. Too bad there's not five guys in the band, I would happily read another one in this series!

For me one of the most important aspects of a book is the character development and this author does a great job! I just can't get into a book if I don't care about the characters. The narrator also made each characters personality pop! That's all I'm writing because I can't wait to start the next book.....

A hand-picked cadre of warriors, they had the fierce courage of their Scots forefathers, combined with the stealth and cunning of the Indians who lived beside them in the wilderness. Battling the French in a no-holds-barred combat, they forged a new brand of honor, became a new breed of men - MacKinnon's Rangers. Iain MacKinnon had been forced to serve the British crown, but compassion urged him to save the lovely lass facing certain death at the hands of the Abenaki. He'd defied his orders, endangered his brothers, his men and his mission, all for a woman. But when he held Annie's sweet body in his arms, he could feel no regret.

Started a little slow but as the
characters developed got much better. The beginning was a bit too cliche..., she's small and helpless and he's a big strong warrior but once the writer got past that and developed the characters personalities it got much better. I look forward to the next book.

Zev Hunter was an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind. He was a loner, never given to personal attachments, and damned fierce at his job. But Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he awakens in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors - and is soothed back to consciousness by the sensuously familiar voice of one woman, the woman who has haunted his fantasies for centuries. She was Branislava, member of the Dragonseeker clan.

Way too much ceremony, procedure and nonsense speak......it's missing the story and character development this time. When they speak "carpathian" which obviously you can't understand and it goes on and on..... Too much. I really love this author and will read her other books in hopes this was just a miss and not a series that has gone too long. I just didn't care about the characters or what happened next. Really sad to write this review but it is what it is..... Plus, I like a strong male but these guys are getting boarderline Taliban.... Hope the next is better!!
