Eric - or King Halar, or Vlad, or any number of aliases - doesn't want to be bothered. It's hard to pin down what he does want, if anything. He lives a quiet life, almost a solitary one, mourning in his own way for the loss of someone dear. His quiet solitude can't go on forever. Despite the empty places inside him, events and creatures move through the worlds and across the void between, forcing him into action, into fighting, into confronting things perhaps better left alone...even forcing him into being a King.

Nice long audible story/series. Near the end of this one I couldn’t help thinking why Halar/night lord doesn’t just have Dioginese send thru portal some drones or other future weapons to take care of business. It’s like he forgot about that ability. I will still continue listening to the series and look forward to next installment

I thought watching my Werewolf boyfriend get arrested for murder was the worst experience of my life. But then I was knocked out and dragged off to a cell of my own by the very people who were supposed to protect me from danger. I thought being held prisoner in solitary confinement for weeks on end was the worst experience of my life. But then a visitor came, and I realized I'd been wrong all along. There are worse things than torture and death. Much worse. He wants my blood. More than that, he wants to get into my head.

I really enjoyed the series. And I’m a 49-year-old female (share audible with Husband). It’s just a good YA listen without any excessive sex or violence. Just a good story with variation on werewolves. I don’t understand the negative reviews were people were so picky about this and that. It really is a good storyline. Yes you do get aggravated with the main character but you have to remember she’s a teenager.

I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that's not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can't seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted - and then she was a wolf. All snapping teeth and extended claws.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews. It’s a lighthearted uplifting story. Narration is great you can differentiate the characters, the narrator does an excellent job. It’s an uplifting heartwarming story.I give it five stars. I like these type of stories as a nice deviation from the usual horror werewolf and vampire stories that I enjoy.
