Sell books the smart way. Five years ago releasing a book as an indie author meant uploading it, then begging everyone you knew to buy it. That method simply doesn't work anymore. Fortunately, there's a better way. Amazon has spent billions of dollars over the last decade building the world's best sales engine. They use machine learning to sell massive piles of books, and that engine is just waiting for you to tap into it. This is the book that will teach you how.

What separates great novels from mediocre ones? Story. Authors that master this vital skill keep their readers and listeners up at night, and suffer the deluge of 'when is the next book coming out' emails. Whether you are a first-time novelist, or a seasoned author, Plot Gardening will teach you the fundamentals of storytelling, delivered in a practical way. Through exercises at the end of each chapter you will build your own outline, and you'll do it without sacrificing the creativity that is so vital to telling great stories.

Being a writer is not just about typing. It's also about surviving the rollercoaster of the creative journey. Self-doubt, fear of failure, the need for validation, perfectionism, writer's block, comparisonitis, overwhelm, and much more. When you're going through these things, it can feel like you're alone. But actually, they are part of the creative process, and every author goes through them too.

The section on fear alone is worth the price of the book. Also, I like that Cathy Yardley reads it. It makes me feel as if I'm talking with a friend. (No, I don't know the author)

The story was good, the romance was predictable, but that's all right because it was entertaining. I thought the first sex scene between the two main characters was unexpected and interesting.
I liked the ending--yes, the murderer was on my list, but not at the top, so good suspense.
Mostly I just loved listening to the narration. The accent was realistic--not overdone and not too timid. Very lazy and almost relaxing at times. Great listen. I'd recommend it.
