Tobias Gamble knew from a young age precisely the kind of woman he was going to make his. She was not going to be like his mother. She was going to be like the mother he claimed. In other words, she was going to be just right. And when Toby returns to his hometown of Matlock, Kentucky, and claps eyes on Adeline Forrester, he knows she’s the one.

This book was so good. It had nothing to do with the sex that was totally H. O. T. BTW. I laughed, cried and was pissed off along with the characters. Margo and Dave was amazing. Everyone needs one. I absolutely will be reading this book again. Just because :)

I think for sure it must've been a dream because there's no way a guy could look like that, touch me like that, and be so in tune with me on every known level and disappear, leaving me with nothing but a good story to tell my friends. When he walks into my bar three months later, everything I thought I knew and what we'd had disappears in the blink of an eye and the blinding light of the three-carat diamond on his fiancee's hand.

Millen didn't look like an alpha to me he looked like a punk beeyotch. Drew too. What kind of alpha can't fight for their own kid!!!!! Like I said, I just can't!!!

Summer  - Evers Sinclair is dangerous. One flash of that teasing smile, and I know he’s going to ruin me. He makes my body shiver and my brain melt. He’s also a huge mistake. Girls like me don’t land guys like Evers. But every time he knocks on my door, I let him in. I thought we understood each other. I thought we were playing the same game. I was wrong.

Rachel knew exactly what turning thirty would be like. She had a plan, after all. First college, then a climb up the professional ladder. Love, marriage, children. All of it was on the schedule. The cheap Hollywood apartment wasn’t on the list. Neither was the string of heartbreaks. Or the effect her mother’s cancer had on her career. It’s hard to stay practical and on point when everything takes a left turn. Enter Sebastian, the nerd across the street. The boy she defended when he couldn’t defend himself.

My life was irrevocably changed that night; the night I was taken. I saved a man's life, but at what cost to myself? Can I convince him to save me in return? I hate him for what he's done to me. But the longer I'm trapped with him, the harder it is to cling to that hatred. He is an enigma of a man, one who is shockingly arrogant, sweetly contrite, and frighteningly aggressive by turns. And the pain in his eyes is a mirror for my own.

The narrator for this book completely ruined it for me. I could not even finish it. I used one of my precious credits because this very same book has 4 3/4 stars on Kindle. So basically I am going to need to read it. Who in the heck has time for that. I will put it in my Kindle library for next year in hopes that I can scrub the narrator's voice from my brain. Jason Winters sounds like a short, plump nerdy guy that still lives in his mothers basement playing video games. Not a young, powerful take charge handsome guy who is a member of the Irish mob. This guy should not be reading any type of romance. I am going to request a return of my credit. Such a waste!!
Also, I am curious to know if the main character refers to his friend as buddy when he wanted him to do something in the Kindle version. Buddy isn't a manly word that someone from the Irish mob would utilize without sarcasm or condemnation. Just sayin :(.

I really enjoyed the story. Vaughn and Charly had great chemistry. I loved to hear them fight. The two were hilarious. I loved Vaughn's family and Charley's friends. What I didn't like was Alexander Cendese female voice. I think that it would have been good for a youth fantasy book like The Rangers Apprentice or one of ML Foreman books but definitely not this genre. He was great as a guy but his portrayal of a woman was not awesome. it's a good thing that Samantha Towle wrote such a great book or many would have stopped reading. I wonder if authors choose their narrators 🤔 I just find it hard to believe that the author would choose such a voice or maybe the pool of choices were not good. Either way still a good book. Enjoy😊

It wasn't supposed to be like this.... I wasn't supposed to be boyfriendless, homeless, and jobless at 28. And I most definitely wasn't supposed to hit Hollywood's resident bad boy Gabriel Evans with my car and break his foot. Now I'm stuck in his apartment, taking care of him while he's incapacitated. Living with the hottest guy in Hollywood, who I've had a crush on forever, doesn't sound like a chore, right? Wrong. Gabriel Evans is rude and crude and drinks way too much, and as soon as his foot is healed I'm out of here. So why do I keep forgetting to check the classifieds?

So far this was my least favorite of the series. I first was intrigued about the book. Her 1st article cracked me up.😂 Then I hated the way that he treated her. Teasing her like he did. I don't like books that go back and forth with absolutely no communication and plenty of assumptions between the main characters.. This book was all of that.
I'm not sure that I would have forgiven her dad but then she got on my damn nerves. Her news article was completely rediculous (the 2nd one) and I only kept listening because I listened all of the previous books before this one in the series. I'm going to read the next book in the series because the others were so good.

I was eight years old when I found out I had a father. It was the same day I held my dead mother in my arms while praying her life wasn't really over. I was dropped into the middle of a new family not long after that...From the very beginning I was ostracized because of who my mother had been. The daughters of club members were generally known as MC Princesses. My little sister was one. My title was a bit different, and proved that my mom's sins would always be held against me. I was The Other Princess.

So well written. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster along with the main character. I couldn't believe the hurt and heartache that Ever had gone through. She had no one to trust. These authors are true artists I hope and pray they put the rest of the series on audible
.
I've read some of the other reviews and some call her a whiny cry baby and I wonder if we'd read the same book. This young woman kept all of the hurt and anguish to herself and gave those that hurt her chance after chance to get it right and they failed her at every turn. Instead of a wo-is-me attitude, she asked for nothing and did what was best and safest for her.

I loved the detail in the description of her artwork.

the Narrators were perfect and very relevant.

They say your first kiss should be earned. Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky. They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred. Mine were broken before we left church. They say your heart only beats for one man. Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end. I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit. Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

The description of this book turned me away. I love all of LJ Shen's books without exception but there's always a first book from your one of your faves that you just don't like. This one is not it. The reviews of this book make it seem like Wolf (our Hero) raped Francesca (our heroine) this is not the case.
Brief Description:
Wolf forces Francesca's hand in marriage through her father, a mob boss. He believes the worst of her until he later finds out the truth. He's a U.S. senator and she is a 19 year old mafia princess.
The story has it's twists and turns. This book is absolutely in the Anti-hero category which is not for everyone. There is absolutely no unconsentual sex anywhere in the book. Also, there was no hint of Sparrow in this book. They are completely two separate books. I would encourage all to read this book. I would also encourage those to read more books like this one from LJ Shen's and other authors who write Anti-hero books. Some of my faves besides Shen are TM Frazier, Anna Zaires, Izzie Sweet and Sean Moriarty and A. Zaverelli. please take the time and enjoy a good book 😊
Also, the Narrators were spot on!
