At fifteen I fell in love. His name was Jake Stephens and he took the abandoned, lonely girl I had been and made me whole. His love was a pure and unconditional love that made every day better than the last; a fairy tale of my very own. But this story isn't about Jake. It's about Abel Madden; the man I meet after the fairy tale goes to hell. A cocky, arrogant man who says what he wants, does as he pleases, and makes no excuses for it. He irritates me--downright pisses me off at times--but he also brings me back to life.

I really enjoyed this book . There were some reviews that did not like female narrator. I had been familiar with Tracy marks in previous listens and she does have a unique voice and style of narration. I happen to really like her. Her voice seems to have been matched to her characters in the books I have listened to with her. My opinion.
The male narrator was great. Although, his narration was limited.
Great story!

I read this book quite a few years ago. Much better to read than listen. Loved the book when I read it. The narrator was pretty good. Not annoying but I did not like her voice for the other characters. Also, Not sure how I feel about the echo voice sound effect when the characters were in thinking mode.

Posey Osterhagen can't complain. She owns a successful architectural salvaging company, she's surrounded by her lovable, if off-center, family, and she has a boyfriend-sort of. Still, something's missing. Something tall, brooding and criminally good-looking - something like Liam Murphy. When Posey was 16, the bad boy of Bellsford, New Hampshire, broke her heart. But now he's back, sending Posey's traitorous schoolgirl heart into overdrive once again.

I love this narrator. I like this author. But the characters ...... Liam was an egotistical horses ass. And Cordelia was a doormat and sort of pathetic . I gave 3 stars because although I was not feeling good about characters it was still a well written flow of words and Xe Sands can make a bad character tolerable enough to complete the listen.

A series of weather and road mishaps leave me trapped in the middle of a blizzard with a complete stranger. In the back of a pickup truck. For 48 freakin' hours. A stranger with long hair, tattoos, and rippling with muscle. A stranger with an insanely sexy voice and a wicked smile that turns my insides to jelly. A stranger who holds me in his arms, calms me, and then sets a fire in me that I can't put out.

Book was just ok. Good enough to pass the time while doing things around the house. I like Tracy marks as narrator. DC Cole, however, sounded like Casey Kasem and he just didn't sound like the rock star to me. The voice is pleasant enough, just not for this part.

When I met him, he was just a gray-eyed stranger behind a mask. He turned my head when no one else did, and he upped the ante by showing me what I'd been missing when our tongues met for the first time. When I got to know him, he was still a stranger on the other end of the phone. He made my toes curl and my knees weak with his dirty words and dirtier suggestions. I was his wild ace, and he knew how to play me just right so that we both won.

I'll start by saying that I loved the narrators. The story however, a bit irritating. Male lead was a jerk for about 3/4 of the book. Then there was this unlikely turnaround of his feelings. And then a cliffhanger. This was quite irritating . I almost didn't finish the book at the half way point but It's in my romance package so just kept going.

I'm NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance "Romance". I'm notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I'm a player on and off the ice. I'm the one women with no inhibitions want. Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don't know how to be any other way. I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does.

Was disappointed for a penny reid book. Poor character development. I got nothing about the male lead personality. The female was blah. It was a struggle to keep going. At the end it was a little "exciting ". The best characters were the knitting group. The book could have been cut down in half.
