I enjoyed listening to this book and I enjoy when the authors read the books because they can give the most insight and meaning to the words and sentences more than a normal reader could. I was told by a friend that this book is a must read and I was not disappointed as I can picture my own childhood while listening. It truly is a must read.

Good story but seem all over the place yo me not a real time line. She went from high school, middle school, to now to back to high school to 8 years ago to now. the stories were okay
I can say the only thing I learned new about her would be that she has had 8 miscarriages. I pray that her and her husband are able to have a baby soon. I like Gab and her story was ok.

I I absolutely love this book it's spoke so true to young black boys it was almost as if I was writing a story to my own young son it discuss the heritage of black people in where we come where we have been as a people and we're we're still going as a people and how far we still have to go. It discusses culture and HBCU discuss everything that's needed and necessary for a young black boy to know to be successful in life and to still give them some autonomy I love this book

love the emotion in this book it reminds me of a teenage girl who writes in her journal and as an adult decided to publish her thoughts. I like the play on words that makes you think a little past what something initially means. Good book.

I absolutely love this book. I bought the book but just didn't want to read it. I felt that I had to hear it read by Jenifer herself (that's Jenifer with one n) lol!! She told her story with so much authenticity, no shame, so much emotion. This book will make you cry then at the same time laugh until you can't take it no more. She truly takes you on a ride of her lifes ups and downs. I can love her even more knowing her back story and all of the struggles she has over come. truly a mother of Hollywood. A true example of Black Girl Magic in these street. Go Miss Lewis baby pray and slay in that order!!!!
