Millicent understands the terms of her arranged marriage all too well. She gets to be a Countess by marrying an impoverished Earl. And in return, the Earl Fitzhugh receives the benefit of her vast wealth, saving his family from bankruptcy. Because of her youth, they have agreed to wait eight years before consummating the marriage--and then, only to beget an heir. After which, they will lead separate lives. It is a most sensible arrangement. Except for one little thing.

Amazing story with plenty of character development, lots of sexual tension and I was never bored. The men sound like men and the women sound like women. Great narration! Sebastian is my favorite character to date!!! Funny, romantic and a jerk who has a big heart in the end!

She trusts no man with the secret she desperately protects. Haunted by his past, Roark, the Earl of Clarendon, rigidly adheres to propriety, holding himself and those around him to the highest standards, no matter the cost. Betrayed once, he's guarded and leery of all women.

I powered through this one because once I start a book I have to finish it. It dragged on and on and on! So many characters and side stories that I didn't get enough character development and romance between the two main characters. I don't recommend this book. The narration was excellent!

I couldn't really get into this book. I think it's because the characters lacked so much warmth towards each other. A ton of internal dialogue as well. It had such high ratings. I think I not much of a Loretta chase fan.

I almost cried, laughed and could not stop listening!!!
Although I do think Alex was actually to much of a jerk to forgive and Charlotte didn't speak up for herself enough, and the fighting parts were too long....The book was absolutely amazing as well as the narration. And finally the last few minutes of the book gave me the confession I was waiting for the whole time!! Parts of the book I hated.... But the ending was worth it.
