After listening to the "My Favorite Murder" podcast and first hearing Michelle McNamara's name and then listening to her novel, "I'll Be Gone in the Dark," I HAD to listen to "Evil Has a Name" and it has not disappointed. Excellent account, and this fills in perfectly the details that were unable to be answered in McNamara's novel. The 2 are a perfect complement. I'm utterly amazed by the detailed account, and the willing participation of the victims and their families brought tears to my eyes. Incredible courage!

I have been so-so when it comes to Jodi Picoult novels. Seems every one of them has to have a huge twist at the end, rather than letting the story unwind naturally. Hence, as I listened, I kept waiting for it. She did it again, but this time, it didn't take away from the most important theme of the story.

The readers for this audiobook are phenomenal and truly brought the story to life. I highly recommend.

The story is carefully crafted, and just when you become cynical that there's going to be an unexpected twist or the "deus ex machina" will solve everything, the story delves deeper. It is an excellent recording that often had my husband coming it to the garage wondering what's wrong as I sat listening to it in my car (not running lol), crying.
