What a sweet, lovely story! I enjoyed it so much, and the narration was perfect. it's nice to have a story for all ages that teaches good morals without being "preachy".

The best thing about this book was Xe Sands...
amazing as always! The story itself was entertaining. I figured out the ending, but that was ok. It had enough twists and turns to the story to keep my interest without making me dizzy! I will read/ listen to the author again and always look for more books narrated by Xe Sands. This was a credit well spent.

This was the only June Original that I found even remotely interesting. It was ok...one of those books that you can listen to while you are doing something else.

I wasn't sure that I was going to like this Audible Original when I first began listening to it , but I found that I didn't want to do anything else until I finished it. The only reason that I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it didn't sound as polished as a more professional Audible book. All in all, however, I did enjoy it!

I very much enjoyed the story, and I will be looking at listening to more from this author.
Xe Sands is on my short list of favorite narrators , and she really made the story come alive. I am comfortable with her voice now, and she does a great job of changing her voice for each character. Glad I happened to find this combination of Alafair Burke and Xe Sands.

I am actually going to purchase the hardcover of this book because there are so many things in it worth highlighting and underlining for future reference. That being said, I am very glad that I purchased the Audible version first. Brittany Pressley is an amazing narrator, which made an excellant book even more enjoyable.
Absolutely worth the credit used!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. I don't have a problem with the unbelievable storyline since all sci fi is pretty weird to me. I very much liked the story itself, and I was impressed with the performance.
I do NOT appreciate the liberal usage of profanity, and it annoys me that it is getting more and more difficult to find a good book without "f - ing this" and "f - ing that" all thru out the book. That is why I knocked off one star from my rating. I was tempted to knock off two stars. If profanity offends you then you may want to try to move on to something else. At least there was no gratuitous sex or gruesome violence !

Another winner!

I loved this book. Kristan Higgins never fails to entertain. This book was a little darker than her other books which disturbed me a bit because I listen to Audible before bed, but once I got past a certain point, I was ok again.
Xe Sands was amazing as usual with her narration. She brings characters to life and makes the listening experience so much fuller than just reading a book .
The combo of Higgins and Sands pretty much ensures that I will purchase/read/ enjoy the book!

Strong sexual language. I 'm a little scared that I understood Jane so well !
Narrator was spot on and really enhanced the story. Emotional triggers throughout the book regarding verbal abuse and it's effects, but the subject matter is a sensitive issue and should be discussed.
I listened to this book because I had enjoyed "Evelyn After"...this book was even better!! Now I'm off to listen to "Half Past", hoping that I will once again be pleased with this author...she is one I will continue to follow!

I enjoyed reading the book awhile back, so I thought that I would listen to the audible version. I struggled through four chapters before I gave up. The voice of the wife, Claire, was the most montone, boring voice I have ever heard narrating a book . I generally don't complain, but I actually had to stop listening because it was taking away the pleasure of the story for me. I will be deleting the Audible version although I will likely read the Kindle version again in the future.
This is strictly my own opinion, and I am sure that other people may have liked her voice, but it brought a 4 Star rating for a decent story down to an overall 2 Star rating for me.
