Nicole Ashe is the average American girl, except that she happens to work for a vampire and doesn't realize it. But all that changes when her boss sends her to convince a local rock musician – heartthrob, to help them retrieve an ancient relic that could be the answer to the vampire's curse. There is something about Nicole that stirs Alec's hunger nearly beyond control, but he would do anything to protect her...even from himself.

Would you consider the audio edition of Born to Darkness to be better than the print version?

Oh my .... I can say that I truly LOVE this audio book, Born To Darkness, sooooo much, and I would have to say the audio was just as good as reading the book, but maybe even "more" enjoyable because the narrators voices were so perfectly cast on this audio book. The music throughout the audio was haunting and seductive and really added to the mysterious ambience and encouraged you to keep listening. Each character was perfectly portrayed, highly engaging and totally engrossing the listener. Such a great new story line that took on a different avenue which I found thought provoking and a more fulfilling listen. The chapters moved at such an unrestrained pace that as I neared the end, I was like 'noo - there's got to be more!!" Nicole and Alec were love at first sight ... and the "BELIEVABLE" kind at that. Alec was exactly how I would find a male vampire to be in the most erotic, seductive way. I loved the history of the vampires and their ancient beliefs. The side characters were awesome and added a great depth to the overall audio experience.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Born to Darkness?

I think I loved the parts most when Nicole would make herself vulnerable and offer herself to Alec (her romantic counterpart), and Alec would just turn and walk away. What man/vampire in his right mind (or even wrong mine) would walk away from a beautiful woman like that? And he did so, because he loved her that much ! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .......

Which scene was your favorite?

The discovery's of 'who was who' and WHAT WAS WHAT were the best parts, These are the twists that take you in the direction you were not headed for my friends ....

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes and no. I like for adventures to last, so I wanted the story to continue. It was a good length that gave you just enough of an earful to make you wish it was longer. But then I know this is how more books are sold ... in series and whatnot. So obviously, I'm on the look out for the next book that come after .. YES ... A CLIFFHANGER!!! sigh ...........

Any additional comments?

Born to Darkness audio book is a "WIN-WIN" on all accounts in the romance-paranormal-fantasy genre. It was surprisingly different from most vampire stories. This is where you will get hooked! .... Go Light Seekers!!!

By the way ... the author should sell black T-shirts that say 'LIGHT SEEKERS-R-US' or something like that. I would buy one!!

The New World tells of Viola's journey to the New World, brilliantly capturing the hope and fear of settlers in search of a new life. Patrick Ness says that he wrote it "as a huge and deeply-felt thank you to readers. I've had so many questions about Viola and what her life was like before that I couldn't resist the opportunity to reveal just a little bit extra.

Would you try another book from Patrick Ness and/or Angela Dawe?

I think I should .. or would.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The story was a bit dragged out but all in all, I found it a nice listen. I don't like whinny children whose parents are doing the best they can to make a better life for everyone as a whole.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Angela Dawe?

Yes ... she sounded youthful, ambitious and had nice pacing.

Was The New World: Prequel to the Chaos Walking Trilogy worth the listening time?

It was just a bit 'slow' ... but that doesn't mean it wasn't good.
