This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This is the worst example of an Alpha character that I've ever read. It was so corny from the beginning to the very end. Every chapter was predictable.

Has Dangerous Secrets turned you off from other books in this genre?

This book has not turned me off from the genre, but it has definitely turned me off from anything written by this author. I listen to several books a week during my long commute to work and back. I'm just glad I didn't cause an accident by how often I had to roll my eyes at something the hero said.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was the only redeeming quality of this audio book,

Any additional comments?

I always finish a book that I've started, and I have to say that I couldn't wait for it to end. Save your credit or your money and choose another book.

Keane Morgan wouldn't return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn't want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin' choice in the matter - at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax's coveted parking spot at UCLA. Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated.

Seemed there was very little story between the sex scenes. I found myself skipping through them. Very repetitive.

Olivia Kiskey needs a change. She’s been working at the same Nodaway Falls, New York, waffle house since she was a teenager; not a lot of upward mobility there. She’s been in love with Tobias, the cook, for the last four years; he's never made a move. Intent on shaking things up, Olivia puts her house on the market, buys a one-way ticket to Europe, and announces her plans to her friends - but then she meets Davina Granville, a strange and mystical Southern woman....

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The only way this book could have been a 4 or 5 star experience is if it were written by a different author. The plot was mediocre, and the author clearly didn't know what to do with it. Half way through the book, I began cheering for the enemy. Part of me wanted her to lose just out of sheer frustration. I mean, come on, if the heroine was that stupid, she deserved to lose.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amanda Ronconi’s performances?

Sure, my review has nothing to do with the narrator. She can only read what's written on the pages.

What character would you cut from A Little Night Magic?

The heroine, Olivia. I would replace her with someone who had a little common sense. And maybe a brain.

Any additional comments?

The only saving grace is the last 2 chapters of the book. It gained a star from my original 1-star rating.

Would you try another book from Katie Reus and/or Viv Williams?

I really don't think I could handle another book like this, if it's an indication of her writing. The story was so implausible, and I could assess that in the first few chapters.

Has His Secret Past turned you off from other books in this genre?

This book was in a genre of its own. I love a good romantic suspense or mystery, but this was neither.

Would you be willing to try another one of Viv Williams???s performances?

I don't know.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from His Secret Past?

Well, I'd start with the scene where the bad man tries to rape & kill the heroine. When the hero, her long-abandoned-one-&-only-true-Love and the father of her child rescues her by rushing in and killing the bad man, he tells her she's in danger & there are more bad men coming to kidnap her & their son. Instead of fleeing, she stands in her house arguing that she's not going anywhere with him until he explains where he's been for the past 5 years. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this scene takes place immediately after she gets out of the shower, and is wrapped in only a towel. All while the hero is remembering her lush round figure, long legs, etc. etc. This scene goes on for a while and takes place in the early chapters. It only gets worse from there.

Any additional comments?

I always rate the books I read, but I've never written a review on any of them. I decided to write this one if only to save some other unsuspecting listener the loss of a credit. I wish someone had warned me.
