The first rule of being a ghost whisperer: Don't tell anyone. Seriously. Don't. Sure, it might sound harmless. A fun party trick, even. I assure you, it's not. How do I know? Well, let's just say that I've had a lot of experience with this sort of thing, and nine times out of 10, it turns into an all-consuming disaster.

I purchased this book because I really enjoyed the sample. I wished there had been more of her cat, Flapjack, but I guess he wasn't that pivotal to the plot. I enjoyed the narration but there were times when I became frustrated with the ghost Rose. Overall I'm glad I listened to it. I already have the next one in queue for me to start listening to.

Sarah Grayson owns Second Chance, a shop that sells lovingly refurbished items, in the charming town of North Harbor, Maine. But she couldn't run the store without the help of her right-hand man, Mac - or her dashing rescue cat, Elvis. Mac's life before North Harbor has always been a little bit mysterious, but it becomes a lot more intriguing when a woman from his past shows up in town, and then turns up dead. Suspicion falls on Mac, but Sarah - and Elvis - know he can't be the killer, and they hope they can prove his innocence quick as a whisker.

I really enjoy this series. I enjoy the characters and writing. My only complaint is I wish the other women would stop pushing Sarah and Nick together. But, I know that's all part of the story, but they are dragging it way too much.

Things have been quiet in the coastal town of North Harbor, Maine, since Sarah Grayson and her rescue cat, Elvis, solved their first murder. Sarah is happy running Second Chance, the shop where she sells lovingly refurbished and repurposed items. But then she gets dragged into a controversy over developing the waterfront. Most of the residents - including Sarah - are for it, but there is one holdout: baker Lily Carter.

Sarah Grayson is the happy proprietor of Second Chance, a charming shop in the oceanfront town of North Harbor, Maine. At the shop she sells used items that she has lovingly refurbished and repurposed. But her favorite pet project so far has been adopting a stray cat she names Elvis. The big black cat with a scar across his nose turned up at a local bar when the band was playing the King of Rock and Roll's music and hopped in Sarah's truck.

I just finished an enjoyable series and have been looking for something equally as fun. This was the perfect start to what looks to be another enjoyable series in the cozy mysteries genre. So far all of the characters are fun to listen to and I do like that, at least so far, there aren't any annoying ones popping up. I love trying to solve the mysteries and was so far off on this one. I also really really liked the narrator. More than once I've had to stop listening to a story that I really thought I'd enjoy because I just couldn't stand the narrator, but Marguerite Gavin does a really wonderful job! I even liked that now and then she'd even attempted to do the cat's voice, and quite well I may add. Now THAT is dedication!

Most folks associate the city of Salem, Massachusetts, with witches, but for Lee Barrett it's home. This October she's returned to her hometown - where her beloved Aunt Ibby still lives - to interview for a job as a reporter at WICH-TV. But the only opening is for a call-in psychic to host the late-night horror movies. It seems the previous host, Ariel Constellation, never saw her own murder coming.

I couldn’t get through this. I was enjoying the story, but I just could not get past the narration. The narrator is Steph she speaks too fast she doesn’t speak in a conversational way. It wouldn’t bother me that she wouldn’t attempt to do the voices. But she just talks too fast she’s just reading a book like a robot. I couldn’t get past that and it’s a shame because I really was interested in listening to this and the rest of the series but not if it’s got the same narrator.

This was overall an enjoyable listen. I felt though that the murder investigation by the main character lacked a little bit of detail. I felt that there was more detail about the secondary characters than the actual murder mystery. I also found that really nobody could have guessed the murderer because we knew so little about them. He came from left field. The whole point of a murder mystery is for one to guess who the killer could be and up to the end, we had some decent possibilities and none were the killer. I liked the narrator because she narrated another series which I absolutely loved, but I don't think I will listen to more of this one.
