Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away. But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos - the first and only love of her life - the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve.

It’s been awhile since I found a romance novel that I couldn’t stop listening to. This book reminded me of Colleen Hoover YA type stories. I loved how it went from past to present, and I am going to miss Elliott and Macy now that I’m done with the book.

First, Colleen is one of my favorite romance authors. I love her books. This one was just okay though. I am curious to know if there will be a sequel - it felt like there was more to the story that needs to be told. AND you must know that his narrator is Shayna Thibodeaux. I literally hate her voice and narration. I avoid all books narrated by her which is sad because there are quite a few authors I enjo----, but stopped mid series because this chick was hired to narrate. Is that why she is going by a different name? Because I can't be the only one that hates her.

Alienated because she's too smart, her speech too affected, her social skills too far outside the norm, she seems to have no choice but to retreat into isolation. I listened to Flat Out Love forever ago and was so excited to see this pop up on my screen on audible because I wanted to know what happened to Celeste. She is by far one of my most favorite characters. She is quirky and strange, and perfect in her own way - what a well written book. Plus you get to hear more about Matt and Julie - so you really need to listen or read Flat Out Love first.
