This is Book 5 in the Peyton Brooks, FBI Series but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. Listeners of the previous book will recognize that parts of the story are a continuation of that book. It's not often that I wish an audiobook of this length (15+ hours) was even longer, so you know it has to be good! As always, there is so much going on here that the listener is never bored. After a grim discovery, Peyton's case takes her to the Yucatan to investigate. Marco is busy back in San Francisco with two cases of his own. He is also rehabilitating his leg at Peyton's, so there's still hope for those two.

My gosh, I just love this series! The characters are written in such a way that you really come to feel like you know them, flaws and all. The camaraderie between them all is just terrific. The twists and turns will keep you guessing until the end and you'll be rooting for Peyton and Marco to get their relationship back on track. This has everything that I've come to expect from the series - a great story, realistic characters, humor and a bit of romance. The only thing that could make it even better would be great narration. With Kelley Hazen as narrator, problem solved! Distinct, easily identifiable characters and wonderful pacing and emotion have become her trademark. She always manages to deliver a stellar performance. Such an awesome listen! I would recommend Mayan Gods in the Yucatan and the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this historical western romance but hated the way that women were treated in those times. How sad (and infuriating) that Regina was forced to remarry after recently losing her husband, just to keep her own land. The lack of respect shown her by her son was just as bad. I don't doubt that many unscrupulous men would have taken advantage of a woman in her position and one such man certainly did try in this story.

Fortunately her mail order husband turned out to be an honorable Ranger, Rex. On assignment to capture a land swindler, he is undercover as Regina's husband and is also tasked with making sure that she keeps her ranch. Criminal elements will do their best to prevent that from happening.

What began as a simple temporary arrangement soon becomes something more when Rex and Regina become attracted to one another. He'll pay a price for capturing the bad guys but what will he risk for a future with Regina?

With an interesting plot and several twists, Rex and Regina's story held my interest throughout. Action, suspense and romance made this a great listen. Regina was a woman of uncommon fortitude and I loved her strength. I'm glad that her resolve paid off, despite the almost insurmountable odds. The narration was very good and added to my enjoyment. I would recommend this.

Let me begin by saying that I live with a conspiracy nut, a self-proclaimed "expert". Words like "chem-trails", "geoengineering" and "fake news" are part of everyday conversation in our household.

Being a fan of the Lady Justice series, I was intrigued by the controversial subject matter and was curious to see how it would be presented. Walt becomes involved in a case that involves the mysterious deaths of people linked to a clandestine government program. For every seemingly outlandish claim, there always appears to be a perfectly logical explanation. The occasional nuggets of truth only complicate matters further. Is the conspiracy real or just an elaborate hoax? Is this story purely fictional or is it merely disguising itself as fiction? We may never know. What I DO know is that this latest installment of the series was highly entertaining, as well as thought-provoking. I was even motivated to do some searching of my own on the internet. Listeners may never look at the sky the same way again.

George Kuch narrated the entire series and I appreciated the continuity of having the same narrator throughout. His performance was outstanding, drawing me in immediately and maintaining my interest for the entire story. I really enjoyed Lady Justice and the Conspiracy and would highly recommend it and the rest of the series.

Every dream filled with her. For 12 years, I existed in hell. Breathed in the fires from down below. Until her, the woman on the beach outside of my home.

Boy, I thought MY family was dysfunctional! Cora and Riddick had their hearts ripped out by lies, deceit and betrayal. How do you pick up the pieces when your dreams die, when your future is gone? And how do you get past the mistrust when you discover it was all just a lie? Things are about to get very hot - and very dangerous.

This was a great second chance romance, with very raw emotions and language. I can't imagine the pain they both endured for the last 12 years. I was immediately drawn in to Cora and Riddick's story and couldn't stop listening. I also liked the plot twists and element of danger. The climax was chilling, suspenseful and action-packed. Great story!

Obsession of the Heart is Book 2 in the Music Trilogy but can be enjoyed as a standalone. The story centers on Davina Walters, an international singing sensation. With a diverse cast, various locales around the world and music at the heart of it all, Ms. Kahn spins a tale of love, loss and friendship.

I'm really enjoying this series. I love how the descriptions of the various settings almost makes you feel like you are there. The story is a reminder that even "beautiful people" have problems just like the rest of us. The characters love deeply and mourn the loss of loved ones with the same ferocity.

The narration was very capably handled by the author and I was impressed with her accents, character voices and foreign languages. My interest was held throughout and it was a great listening experience. I can't wait for the final book in the trilogy and would recommend Obsession of the Heart.
