A young couple buys a beautiful house by a picturesque lake in the Catskills, looking to escape the bustle of the city to raise their newborn baby. It is a perfect place for a fresh start. Except that nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. As autumn nights close in around their home, they learn that darkness takes many forms. And sometimes that darkness is hungry. New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry delivers an unsettling Audible Original that will give listeners the Halloween creeps all year round.

All her life, Lesley Carpenter has been haunted by a gruesome nursery rhyme - "The Scottish Bride" - sung to her by her great grandmother. To find out more about its origins, Lesley visits the mysterious Isobel Warrender, the current hereditary owner of Linden Manor, a grand house with centuries of murky history surrounding it. But her visit transforms into a nightmare when Lesley sees the ghost of the Scottish bride herself, a sight that, according to the rhyme, means certain death.

There are encounters that may never be fully explained. These stories are filtered through half-forgotten memories and traverse between the borderlands of reality and nightmare. Ethereal figures who seem to materialize into thin air for just long enough to pique our imagination and then disappear once again. Perhaps there are some encounters that will elude us forever. This audiobook contains unbelievable encounters with aliens, ghosts, goblins, and every oddity in between.

These 10 encounters are presented to you without any influence from the author. The only one i had heard of was Travis Walton. Some of these cases are from the past and i'd like to learn more about them. They were all very intriguing. The audio book was just a little over 1 hour so i would most certainly listen to more of these! The quality was good and the narrator, Eddie Leonard Jr. did just fine.

I've been hearing about Ayahuasca for a while now. I find it extremely interesting and a little scary too. This book is 16 real life stories about people's experiences with the drug (or medicine as it's called in the book).even without ever taking it, there is some beautiful messages in here. a lot of it hit home and some of it was messages that we all need to hear. there is information provided here for those who want to try the medicine. i think if the opportunity ever presented itself, i would try it but (for now) i won't actively seek it out.
The recording of this book was clean, clear and good quality. it's read by Mark Gleason. He did a good job.

Alarm bells start ringing when he arrives at Craven Manor. The mansion’s front door hangs open, and leaves and cobwebs coat the marble foyer. It’s clear no one has lived there in a long time. But an envelope waits for him inside the doorway. It contains money and promises more.

The story is very well written and thankfully there isn't a lot of time and details spent on the torture. It's fast paced and doesn't let up. The only issue i had with this book is the narrator. Hannibal Hills. He's done great work on some other books i've listened to but i didn't feel he was a good match for a book from a woman's pov. and there could've been a little more emotion there. However,I will still continue to read or listen to more from this author.

I think this book was interesting and the family will have many great stories to pass along.

If we hadn't been reminded every 10 minutes how incredibly sexy Brad was, the story might've been a little better. it's repeated so much it becomes comical. so sexy Brad and assertive Julie buy an old house and it's haunted. When the ghost appears, it's very sudden and i thought i missed something. i kept listening and realized they were ghost. i had high hopes for this one but was disappointed.

It is as scary as it is exciting: this is how most people would describe a paranormal experience. While others encounter it even when they don't want to, others search for the thrill, going so far as visiting places out of the country just so they can feel the suspense. Haunted forests, abandoned ghost towns, creepy creatures, cursed roads, and other paranormal events - all these things happen for a reason. Murder victims manifest themselves perhaps because their justice is still not achieved, or perhaps, they simply were not ready to go.

This is the first thing I've ever read or listened to by Max Hunter. The audiobook runs about 1.5 hrs. I enjoyed it. I found all the stories interesting and fun except one- the French Nazi story. However, that is just a personal issue. I found it difficult to listen to. I would definitely read or listen to more by this author.
