A world with no hunger, no disease, no war, no misery: Humanity has conquered all those things and has even conquered death. Now Scythes are the only ones who can end life - and they are commanded to do so in order to keep the size of the population under control. Citra and Rowan are chosen to apprentice to a scythe - a role that neither wants. These teens must master the "art" of taking life, knowing that the consequence of failure could mean losing their own.

Scythe is a dystopian series for all dystopian lovers- regardless of age. I had a blast "read in this as a family with my kids. I think I enjoyed it even more than them.

Citra and Rowan are everyday kids in an extraordinary situation. Life and its complexities are minimal in their world. But through luck, lack of wisdom, and chance...pick your version they wind up in the most complex of situations.

I found myself cheering, crying, and panicking for them. Young as they are their entire world is now different. The challenges the apprenticeship has brought them, the life they can't return to without being changed, it will all be different. Irrevocably changed. And all we can do is watch...like the Thunderhead.

Take a vacation, they said. Get away from Silicon Valley's backstabbing and power-grabbing. Recharge the innovative batteries. Unwind, then come back stronger than ever. Instead, I got lost at sea and fell in love with an antisocial lobsterman. There's one small issue: Owen Bartlett doesn't know who I am. Who I really am.

Getting lost is the best thing that ever happened to him...well, both of them. Nothing beats a gruff, curmudgeon of a lobster fisherman and a tech savvy wunderkind on the road to romance. Worlds apart and yet not.

I thoroughly enjoyed Fresh Catch. The feels, the real, and the romance.

Laurelin Paige is mean!!! She made me cry. She hurt my feelings. But now I can tell you without a doubt, that I loved this duet!!!

Dirty Sexy Player left me reeling. I loved it but the unanswered questions hampered my ability to hug it and never let go. So my greedy self, grabbed Dirty Sexy Player as quickly as my pouting would allow. (That was a bigger production than it needed to be because I already had it downloaded...duh!)

So I dove right in praying for immediate answers to all my questions. That is absolutely NOT what I got. Laurelin weaved a tangled web of traitorous feels and anger inducing delays. She taunted the reader with the truth. She lurked behind the pages in a vile and evilly sadistic way just to watch us disolve into worthless lumps while trying to work. (ADULTING IS HARD. Do not audiobook [Yes, I know its not a real verb] this while trying to accomplish anything productive- you will lose!)

Worthless me and my tears were a distracted mess. I tried not to sob. I failed. Sometimes you just need to let it out...right, Lizzy?

For those that haven't yet embarked on this awesome love story- what the hell are you waiting for? For those that are reading this before starting Dirty Sexy Games, what the hell are you waiting for? And those people that have all ready suffered through this duet- why the hell didn't you tell me to read it sooner?!?! Also, the ending...(Smirks) nice!

As usual the author gives us an H that takes some getting used to! I'm not saying he isn't dreamy just an arrogant ass but never fear our h is just the feisty thing to put him in his place.

I can honestly day I wasn't a huge fan of Elizabeth at first either. She is absolutely a snob regardless of her background. But just like our sexy Weston, she grows on you.

But just as you're sure everything is finally going to slide into place...bam! 101 problems and no solutions in sight. I'm chomping at the bit to start Dirty Sexy Games because shit just got real! Pardon my lame expression. 😉

Coach D is a dreamboat. He's also a player...I don't just mean football. He is adorable and cute but don't tell him I said so. With his Clark Kent wingman, I can't believe that these two haven't slayed all the available honeys in town. (That's the extent of my trying to be a cool kid for this review!)

She is the one who got away. THE ONE. Callie was his everything. First of many things but most importantly his everything. Things happened and now they are back in the same town. Same feelings and same looks...

Its hard not to pick up where their hearts left off.

To say it's easy would be a lie. To say this feel good "perfect" relationship isn't going to make you jealous, would also be a lie. The fears, feels, and "friction" will have you enjoying every minute of this story. And if that isnt enough between Callie's parents and the highschoolers, there will be plenty of laughs.

"Accidents" happen, even in Lakeside.

P.S. The Jersey girl in me loves how awesome, homey, and legit Jersey this book feels.

Lili Valente must be related to evil incarnate. Why else would she want me balling my eyes out almost the entirety of this book?!?! She must thrive on the pain of others. Or shes just that good at destroying the fragile hearts of her readers?

I'm going with the latter. A Love So Deadly was an emotional and devastating book. My eyes and head hurt. My heart hurts. All that's left is hope and even that's iffy right now.

There are no douchebags in this story. Well, there are, but they're not who this story is about. This story is about me - the coach's daughter. When I moved to Iowa to live with my dad, the university's take-no-prisoners wrestling coach, I thought transferring would be easy as pie - living with my father would be temporary, and he'd make sure his douchebag wrestlers left me alone. Wrong on both counts.

Sara Ney is without a doubt an accomplished douchebag and a strong feisty chick all in that innocent looking package. I have an absolute blast with each one of these books.

These are fun, rowdy, and so romantic. I can honestly say that she gets me everytime. I sigh at the romantic stuff and cringe when its bound to go bad. I ache at the possibility of no HEA. I freaking squeal at the endings though and The Coaching hours really put me through the wringer.

With no shame, the author stabs you in the soft spots right away. Clinches your heart at the first sign of trouble and makes sure you are constantly reflecting on said betrayal.

In short, she keeps you on your toes and occasionally steps on them too.

What's not to love about this series!?!
Jocks a plenty.
Strong minded heroines.
Special kind of love.

Each story is it's own unique little golden nugget but they are a part of a collection. I love the visits from team mates and the odd ball conversations.

It's so much fun.

I think this one plot wise is my favorite. I loved seeing the growth of the characters. I especially appreciated not wanting to snack the heroine as it progressed. 😉

Guys aren't always the douchebag!
