Great voice variation coupled with a creative and fun vampire story. The struggle is real for a vampire looking for a change of scenery when she is thrust into a position she doesn't want, but has no choice but to take. I love the way Sophia handles here problem and remains true to who she is throughout.

I really enjoyed this book.

The story has all kinds of interesting concepts that were well used on service of this story. I wish I could say more about this but, spoilers.

I found myself routing for the main character from the jump (you'll get it once you listen) and cheering her successes.

The narrator did an excellent job of bringing this story to life.

There was just enough Harem to satisfy and hints of more to come. I only wish we would have seen a little more imagination when it came to the main character's use of his powers. Having said, or typed, that, I look forward to the next installment.

Peter Stone is a poor, black vampire who is wondering where his nightclub, mansion, and sports car is. Instead, he is working a minimum wage job during the night shift, as being a vampire isn't all that impressive in a world where they've come out to mortals. Exiled from the rich and powerful undead in New Detroit, he is forced to go back when someone dumps a newly-transformed vampire in the bathroom of his gas station's store.

I found the concept of vampires coming out through a government bail out to be genious. If vampires exist I suggest they read this book and take notes.
